You are so right, Jaycee!! Thank you so much!!
I totally agree with everything you said......but I just got to thinking....funeral?, as only one child was found? Oh, my!! I can’t believe how heavy this is in my heart! Yes, Dad died with them!
I got a bit sidelined and have been listening and watching a lot of the Gaither videos. I’ve gone through two hankies so far as I’ve clicked through so many wonderful songs.
The last one I watched was “Because He Lives”. That has been a powerful message to me for several years and thus my tag line.
I will be undergoing my first chemo treatment on Dec 1st and I rest in the knowledge that Because He Lives, I can indeed Face tomorrow with Him by my side.
May our Lord Jesus Christ be forever praised!
Hello Everybody!
I am back in town after a lovely week on the beach with my beloved sister.
It was “Hot Rod Week” in Daytona, and the cars were wonderful! Antique Packards, and Vintage Mustangs, Cameros, Corvettes, Old Ford trucks, low riders and Hot Rods filled the streets day and night. The folks showing the cars were very cool and eager to talk about their rides! There was a parade of cars at night, and in the daytime they were on display in the Beals Parking Lot.
Daytona also has a world famous flea market right next to the speedway, and I got a MARTIN GUITAR in perfect condition for $75.00. Yes. You read that right. The guitar is a perfect replacement for the one I made, and sold for $75.00, and MISSED so badly! (For the uninitiated, Martins START at about $1000.00.) Since I paid nothing for the guitar I made, sold it for $75.00, and then bought the Martin for the same price, it is as if I got the new guitar for free. It was in a very old, rotting cardboard case, but the guitar is in excellent condition. I haven’t seen a cardboard guitar case in many years, so this guitar could be 40 years old or more. Anyway, it has perfect tone and intonation, and one teeny chip in the varnish that nobody can see anyway. I can’t help but think that it is a direct gift from above.
The ocean was cold and blustery, it reminded me of Cape Cod! LOL!
For Those of you who are following the Book of Proverbs with DarthVader and Kingattax, I will be back on duty tomorrow morning with Proverbs 13.
It was Made in the USA. Very rare these days.
While we were in Daytona, my brother in Law called.
My Dear Mom is BACK in the Hospital. She twisted her back to get something in the bathroom and broke ANOTHER vertibrae! This one is two up from the previous break. And now she KNOWS she can’t take Oxy so she is in unbearable pain, waiting for the blood thinner to get out of her system before going through the whole procedure all over again. I can’t believe this is happening!
Please keep praying for Virginia. How much can a woman take?
Awesome that you had such a great trip AND that you found one
of your dream guitars! Happy strumming! :)....and welcome back!
It is good to be back in the bosom of FReepdom.
Welcome back! Glad you enjoyed your time with your sis. It’s always nice to spend time with sisters. Cool about the guitar!
The cool thing about this guitar is that, unlike most classical nylon string guitars, it has a narrow neck. Which is precisely why I loved the one that I made.
Sounds like it is going to work out great for you. Nice find!
The good stuff is in the tents BEHIND the big Flea Market sheds. Old tools, kitchen implements, antiques, Martin Guitars, etc. (LOL)
Her voice is so pitch perfect - I do wish she would sing more music for “Jesus Lovers”..................
You are truly an inspiration, DD. God bless you. Thanks for keeping your cyber family updated and please know that prayers continue for you and your family. Hugs!
Saturday was not my day but I would like to thank all of you for your graphics, quotes, tunes, prayers, inspiration and everything else that was posted. You do yourselves proud.
Now it's time for me to find a pillow. See ya on Sunday, I hope! *HUGS* around!
Hope today is a better day. We all have “days like that”.
