To fit it in the oven?

The farm we buy ours from, which is only about a ten minute drive from home, has been owned and farmed by generations of a Christian family, the Iagers, since 1839. My father started getting his turkeys there in the 1970's and I am continuing the tradition. We're having Thanksgiving this year with Mrs. MacNessa's extended family which is why we need the thirty pounder this year.

Bad Birds...
A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad
attitude and an even worse vocabulary.
Every word out of the bird’s mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with
profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird’s attitude by
consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else
he could think of to clean up the bird’s vocabulary.
Finally..., John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even more rude.
John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.
Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute.
Fearing that he’d hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John’s outstretched arms and said “I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions.
I’m sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior.”
John was stunned at the change in the bird’s attitude.
As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird spoke-up, very softly, “May I ask what the turkey did?”

Ha! I love that story. Speaking of turkeys............back in the day, I raised some turkeys. had one of them for the very first Thanksgiving dinner in my very first house after my first marriage. Had my parents and siblings as guests. I killed that turkey and defeathered him and cooked him. Good turkey. Yea, I thank you Lord, that i do not have to cook anything at all this Thanksgiving. Hubby and I are going to fire up a TV dinner and just lay back and relax for the first time in what seems like months. We are thankful and we wish all of you a blessed Thanksgiving.
Baby Avery had her Adenoids removed at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati on Friday, and they brought her home. Sat. she had to be taken to emergency in early morning and later in the evening they had to take her back and they admitted her. She was there Sun and Mon. She was weakened by the surgery and a virus got her. She had a rough time of it, but seems to be pretty much back to normal now. So we are thankful. Pray for their little family as they travel to N.C. tomorrow. (I wish they were not).

She’s darling, Nan. Sorry she has been so sick. These kids can bounce back quickly.
Happy Thanksgiving and relaxing sounds good to me. Enjoy!

She’s a doll. She loves music and playing my real piano is part of our daily routine when I keep her (which is 4 days a week). Instead of cartoons, she watches music videos. Emma never cared for music. She likes art more.
