Been noticing something.
Liberals seem to be a bit jumpy about Marco Rubio.
Want to slime him. Almost like they were about Palin...
Interesting.
LOL! I believe I have 12 years worth of Constitutional, historical & legal research that says otherwise..
From you...so far all we've gotten is insulting & puerile comments.
You do know the differences between Natural, common, civil & administrative law, don't you?
I’d rather see Rubio rise in the Senate, where we need leadership as well.
I know it’s a political staple because it works for a lot of people, but his constant recounting of rising from his parents’ humble origins leaves me cold. A TPaw from the South. Otherwise, he always sounds to me as if he’s explaining the obvious to 8th graders. If we’re looking for a great Hispanic male GOP hope, Ted Cruz is more my style:

That would have been an interesting phone call. Does the rumor indicate who made it or whether they were all together on speakerphone?
When DeMint, Ryan, and Rubio said they weren't interested in running I thought it wise to take them at their word.
Opinions vary. I’ll take Marco anytime. Give him a term of two in the senate and a term or two as Governor and he would be an excellent potus.
LOL!! I wont say anymore.
Rubio would win. In a landslide. He is a former speaker of the house here in Florida. He is highly articulate and the single best communicator of the conservative movement since Reagan. He is wise to stick to his new job and not get in the fray in 2012, but if he did he would walk away with it.
THat is the big question and IMHO none of the current candidates compare.
Well I see you on every eligibility thread so you should know by now.
Then it will be easy for you to provide the links.
He certainly seems to have more political talent than most of the field we’re running this year.
“Natural law” ?
As in state of nature ?
You Floridians are keen on Rubio, as the Texans here are sold on Perry. Give him another 8 years and he may well appear suited for the office.
1. The candidate him/herself. (Yeah, funny but true. Since this individual wishes to be THE law enforcement officer of the US.)
2. The party of the candidate.
3. The State legislatures.
4. The State electors.
5. The Senate of the US in the presence of the House of Reps.
These are the firewalls our Framers set up.
It is a shame almost all of us think of the federal courts as final arbiters of all things. Our politicians have certainly welcomed and encouraged the courts to make the tough decisions, to the detriment of our representative republic.
For rodgy911 . . . you may be right, but it would be a breathtaking mistake for Scotus to get involved. It would eventually invite the courts to take over another power belonging to the other branches. The only way to get rid of a sitting President is, as you point out, his resignation, or his impeachment and conviction. Scotus could determine tomorrow that Hussein was born in Kenya and could not order him to step down.
Likewise for Rubio, it would be a mistake for a federal court to remove him from the ballot. It is up to the political process and elected branches to decide.
Oops. I meant to remove political parties as part of the Framer’s firewalls. But it is still their responsibility as well
Unfortunately the SCOTUS has opted to change the Constitution via “no standing inaction” so the point is moot. They have forfeited their role in the “checks and balances” process I was taught in grade school decades ago. I’ll stop there.
He's been a Senator for less than two years. You may notice that the LAST extremely junior US Senator elected President isn't doing a very good job.
And, prior to the Kenyan, exactly TWO sitting US Senators have been elected President, and neither one was a distinguished executive - although one of them had an excellent PR machine.
Look, I'm not from Florida. Is there something Rubio did down there that is exceptional, that qualifies him to be President? Not to be elected - as we saw in 2008, any idiot can be elected.
I mean, to do the job? Just what is it about him that makes you think he could, even possibly, be President or VP and not screw it up?
