Marco Rubio 2012. No reason Rubio couldn't declare. He'd win.

Been noticing something.

Liberals seem to be a bit jumpy about Marco Rubio.

Want to slime him. Almost like they were about Palin...

Interesting.

My ultimate point is that the Constitution gives the 50 state legislatures, and legislatures alone the legitimate power to decide who gets their electoral votes.

True, but before those electoral votes are cast, the candidate must get on the ballot.

The first step is nomination, at which point the parties are responsible to see to it their candidate is qualified

The next, I believe, concerns is the secretaries of the various states.

After that comes the electors.

The reason, IMHO that Obama slipped past all this was Pelosi swore via an affidavit he was eligible....and everyone's ignorance on the subject of exactly what constituted a natural-born citizen kept them from questioning it.

As beautifully displayed by Freepers insisting being born in the US is enough!

I think Rubio would be OK as a VP nominee. I don’t think he has the campaign experience to run as President, though. The way he handled the media inquiry into his family was pretty embarrassing. He needs to mello out.

I think that he should take advantage of this opportunity to be vetted. Let the media prowl. The media will try to make mountains out of molehills. Let it try.

Would you please list the defining positions that Marco Rubio has stated that are recognized nation wide and would carry him to a victory with full support of conservatives?

Agreed. 100%.

Thing is, sometimes simply going for it, actually works. Rubio certainly would be an improvement over Obama. In every single way.

So there’s no downside for America, if he runs for the office of President. No downside at all.

For his own interests, it’s difficult to see how running for President (even losing badly) would in any way hurt his future plans, and particularly his likelihood to be a VP selection for the eventual winner.

Certainly many, many VPs have been drawn from the ranks of losing primary candidates.

I see no downside for anyone here. Except of course, liberals. :D

I do also like that part.

Since Jim DeMint and Paul Ryan have also vehemently refused to run, why don’t you try and draft them as well while you’re at it.

You either know and understand the law and the constitution or you don’t.
Obviously you do not.

I’m just saying that Marco Rubio would, simply with a single statement, bring much-needed energy and enthusiasm back into the GOP primary race.

I should probably let Rubio be the one to explain his positions to you and other voters, if that’s ok with you all the same.

:D

If you are on this thread then I’m sure you know the four Supreme Court cases that have defined “natural born” as born in the US of 2 US citizen parents. You have also probably read the Federalist papers which also deal with the intent of the founding fathers on the issue of “natural born”.

I read people make that statement all the time but no one provides a source, maybe you will other than vagaries.

I really don't see that happening.

http://www.examiner.com/civil-rights-in-portland/justiagate

This is what its all about.
MInor vs. Happersett beign scrubbed from a website. This web site got caught scrubbing any reference to Minor from scotus files some 25 times. A lot of it was about wong Kim Ark,etc.and whether or not both parents have to have been citizens which appears to have been a strong enough argument for the dudes at justia to go to a lot of trouble to scrub it from scotus files and then put it back again.
Its a good link everyone should read it.
If it applies to zero it may apply to Marco as well. No one will know until it all hits the fan.

To be honest, there’s room for reasonable minds to differ on what natural-born means.

No, it's quite simple.

Natural born means your a citizen because of the nature of your birth.

You can only inhert it from your parents...just as you do their hair or eye color.

If they are not citizens at that point in time, you cannot be natural born.

-----

As far as jus soli citizenship goes; it is IMHO that the blatant misinterpretation of the Intent of the 14th Amendment is the only thing that has given native born citizenship any type of viability.

A citizen of the United States at birth is NOT the same thing as a natural born citizen.

Even Vattel knew the difference.

The country of the fathers is therefore that of the children; and these become true citizens merely by their tacit consent. We shall soon see whether, on their coming to the years of discretion, they may renounce their right, and what they owe to the society in which they were born. I say, that, in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.

Tell you what. How about you do that? :) I simply noticed, the media seems to be after Rubio.

I'm funny that way. When the liberal media are after someone, my default response is to support that person. Since I'd already long ago decided I have a good opinion of Rubio, I thought I'd just support the idea of a Rubio candidacy, on general principle.

So please explain for readers, why Jim DeMint and Paul Ryan should declare their candidacies this week? I'm series.

IMHO,The guy is charismatic as hell and still has an open mind on many issues. He will be President one day. Current thinking for his future is Senator— Governor of Fla.— potus.

The Republican base, and probably the general public is in the mood for a real conservative leader. That’s why Cain, a political neophyte, is leading in the polls. Rubio probably isn’t too well-known outside Florida, but he could catch fire.

There are rumors that scotus currently is aware of zeros ineligibility and has asked him to resign so they don't have to take it up.They dont want to upset the country with the thought that everything he has done has been illegal. What then?

This well could be true. Most of these guys are so gutless they wont take it up anyway. That is why zero will do what ever he can until 2013 and the let's hope he does not get reelected.

It would be hard to imagine a second candidate that gets the pass the zero got however.

I'm not into drafting people to do a job they're not interested in. But it seemed to be up your alley.

I find it hard to believe that any politician in America, is not somewhere inside interested in the job of president.

Whatever any of them claim.

All politicians would be interested in that job. Their decisions whether to run, all pertain to other considerations.

IMHO.

There are some who believe Rubio is not qualified by birth as eligible.

I happen to be one of those, but regardless of what I think, the interesting question is whether or not the Democrats and their MSM allies would touch this issue with a 10-foot pole.

Rubios family did leaver a couple of years before Castro took over as dictator. But, Castro was raising hell for several years before he took over. For a family to go to Miami before is hardly a stab at them but just smart thinking.
