There was a time when having sex with a woman meant a wedding ring, a court ship or at the very least, dinner. But social psychologists say those days are quickly coming to an end as women become more promiscuous, Yahoo Shine reports.

Other things that are said to have contributed to these changes include gender equality, birth control and internet porn.

Women have always been promiscuous.
They were previously more discreet.

BS. The only difference between now and before is people talk about sex more now. Not even remotely true. The big difference is that young people are much more promiscuous. Whereas members of my generation might have married with a couple dozen partners between them, college kids regularly report approaching 3 digit numbers. That and fewer of them are growing up and getting married after sowing those wild oats.

“Although there are women that don’t have sex without commitment, there are more than enough competitors who will sleep with a man for a lot less commitment and little to no dating, allowing men to get a lot of bang for their buck.”
Not good news for good girls.
“Other things that are said to have contributed to these changes include gender equality, birth control and internet porn.”
So much for progress.

And just 10 years ago I took an oath of celibacy.
Meh... Probably better off with that. At least it won't turn plaid and fall off.

There is an argument to be made for marriage being a socially acceptable form of prostitutionExcept the attitude now is: Why buy the cow when you can milk the herd for nothing.

And there's an argument to be made that a marriage is a hostile take-over with a change in management.
Hence my oath of celibacy.
I choose to play neither game.
It's much easier, and cheaper, and less annoying to just avoid the herd and individual cows that might lead you astray.

shouldn't a woman be more than that?Yes, they should also gather the eggs, wash the clothes, feed the small ones, and code some serious X windows apps, after making my breakfast, rubbing my feet, and generally doing what I say.
Got a problem with that?

To: Slings and Arrows
Seems to me these “economists” have it backwards.
The price of sex declines as women become more promiscuous.
The demand is always there. Supply is killing their profit margins. :)
