WHERE and HOW will Sarah Palin declare that she is running? [Now that we finally know WHEN...]

WHERE and HOW
do you think Sarah Palin will declare
that she is running for President,
now that we finally know WHEN she will do it?

Within the last week or two,
just about EVERYONE who is ANYONE in the pro-Palin community
has posted online that Governor Palin will announce that she is running for President
on "Constitution Day" --
with virtually NONE of the traditional smackdown and/or denials coming from SarahPAC,
or from any of the usual "insiders" at Team Sarah --
who have generally been VERY GOOD at rumor control.

So, if she really **is** getting into the race on Friday (or Saturday)
WHERE and HOW
do you think that she will do this?

Will she do announce, for example, though a recorded VIDEO,
as an homage to Hillary! -- and a secret signal to the PUMAs?

And, how will she honor her commitment
to let the "Bob and Mark" radio show be "the first to know" of her decision?

Will she do it from her home in ALASKA?

Or from the site of the original Tea Party in BOSTON?
Or, perhaps from PHILADELPHIA -- or even from WASHINGTON, D.C.?

What do YOU think?

Can YOU predict
what the "unpredictable" Sarah Palin will do?

And, how will she get the MAXIMUM media attention?

Please post YOUR predictions on this thread -- for posterity,
if you dare. :o)

Gee whiz, don't you folks ever get enough of this stuff?

Has anyone seen the date and time burned into a piece of toast yet?

From conservatives4palin.com:

4. The announcement date will be …

Yes, that’s what we all want to know.

That’s what has provoked internecine battles among Palinistas. Some wanted her to declare last December, or this Spring, or yesterday. (Some believe she already declared informally on July 3, 2009 and everyone should just chill out!)

Some believe she should have jumped in before Bachmann and Perry.

The real answer, of course, is in Governor Palin’s head. No one knows when she will announce.

She has stated it will most likely be in September. Facts on the ground could change that, however. My prediction is that it will be on Constitution Day, Sept. 17, because the race is not just about her … it’s about all of us, and our common American values. But I don’t want to suggest that if she DOESN’T declare then that it will be a huge letdown. She will declare when she declares. I don’t have a problem with it. There are a million considerations, including which timing gives her the best shot at victory, the most important consideration of all.

But logic suggests that she might choose a meaningful day for her constituency, just as she announced for governor on Alaska Day, Oct. 18th. Alaska Day is the anniversary of the formal transfer of the Territory of Alaska from Russia to the United States in 1867.

Constitution Day marks the day, Sept. 17th, when the U.S. Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in 1787.

It isn’t a particularly well-known “holiday,” but here’s what the Governor wrote about it in 2009:

Today marks the 222nd anniversary of the formation and signing of our Constitution. The United States Constitution is one of the greatest founding documents in history because it charted a bold new path in the realm of political theory. Not only does the Constitution establish checks and balances within the federal government, it also divides power among the federal government, the states, and the people. The Founders understood that it is the nature of government to grow at the expense of the people’s liberty; and with that in mind, they established a form of government that would be limited in scope and power in order to maximize power to the people.

Today, let’s also take the opportunity to thank our armed forces. The weight of defending our liberty rests on their shoulders, and because of their efforts and sacrifice, we can celebrate the 222nd anniversary of the formation of our Constitution.

Will Governor Palin announce this Saturday? I have no idea. But if she does … you know what that means, my fellow Palinistas?!

We are five days away from the fundamental transformation of the presidential race!

Geeez, was that what that was? I just thought my toaster went haywire and burnt some numbers into the toast. Sorry, I tossed them and didn't really memorize the date and time.

Really? Where was the section of that piece on how the number of lug nuts on the buses wheels will divine the actual hour and minute of the big announcement? Quite a stretch here.

Aw, man, you shouldn't have done that. It was probably this week's PowerBall numbers.

Don’t forget that she promised a local Anchorage radio/tv station that she would tell them first.

ugh noooo - ari-freedom

Before you pooh pooh the power of the PUMAs, you really ought to spend some time checking out the INTENSE folks over at the home of the "formerly pro-Hillary" now "pro-Palin" PUMAs, HillBuzz.org.

With regard to the subject of THIS thread, from hillbuzz.org:

Based on filing requirement deadlines as I understand them, Governor Palin technically has until November 11th at 5pm to announce her campaign for the presidency (this being the latest she could submit her paperwork and the $35,000 filing fee for the South Carolina primary, which is the earliest filing deadline of any of the caucuses or primaries that will determine the ultimate Republican nominee).

The Governor, however, has promised to let her supporters know her intentions definitively by the end of September.

One theory gaining increasing traction is that the Governor will announce on Constitution Day, which is September 17th.

Another theory is that she’ll announce her presidential run in Michigan.

If we can compile the Governor’s reported public schedule for September 17th and if she’ll be in Michigan that day, then chances are this will be the announcement.

A few things to consider:

(1) Word will get out that she is announcing in a certain place, because the Governor’s legions of supporters will want to be a part of it.  So, it will not be a mystery, and I presume it will be a large enough place to accommodate a huge crowd.

(2) September 17th is Constitution Day, and the theme of “Restoring our Respect for the Constitution” is a running theme in all of the Governor’s speeches lately, which indicates it will be a core tenet of her campaign.

(3) Michigan is a state Governor Palin and her husband Todd wanted to campaign aggressively in back in 2008, but Senator McCain gave up his presidential bid in September of that year, essentially deciding he didn’t want to beat Obama and be hated forever by the media for usurping the “historic and unprecedented first black president”.  In “Going Rogue”, the Governor’s first book, it’s abundantly clear she’s still irked by McCain’s decision to surrender Michigan without a fight. The last sentence of “Going Rogue”, in fact, talks about showing Piper the way to Michigan as a metaphor for never giving up the way McCain did.

(4) In the final episode of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska”, a radio show in Alaska asked the Governor if she’s going to run for president and the Governor promised them, back in 2010, that when she makes a decision she’ll announce on the air with them. This, to me, means she’ll phone an announcement in to them and they’ll air it on their show, but it doesn’t mean the Governor will be in Alaska when she makes her announcement.

It just really seems like Governor Palin to announce in Michigan, and on September 17th.

But, honestly, I have to say that one of the great things about Governor Palin is that I seriously never know what she is going to do next.  She is completely in control of her own destiny and beholden to no one.  I also think she’s made excellent decisions in everything she’s done so far, so I trust her to keep doing that going forward.

I love that she’s not buckling to the arbitrary Karl Rove/agenda-driven media caterwauling that she has to announce on their timetable, when she has all the way until November to launch the campaign of her choosing.

We’ll all know her decision when she wants us to know (though I think she’s actually been running for President since 2008, and the longterm strategic work she’s done for her campaign will only become clear to most people in retrospect after she’s won the general election).

Run, Sarah Run!

She’s played her hand far too long. Time for Sarah to fold and do her good work in the background.

IMO, I think she would hurt the GOP chances more than help them at this point.

Will Sarah Palin announce for president on Constitution Day, Sept. 17

LOL!

You're lucky that I didn't post this in BREAKING NEWS, as I had intended, :o)

In the words of an old-time FReeper admonition:

"Lighten up, Francis!"
Speculating about the potential future actions of key players in the political realm is one of the foundational principles of this forum.

When the history books write of how Governor Palin "unexpectedly" became President Palin, I want FReepers to be in Chapter One. ;)
