Is Chris Wallace taking a beating in the press & blogs this morning?

He deserves it!
Newt was right to attack him and his line of questions. The audience agreed.
This wasn't his tv show. People wanted to hear the candidates discuss important issues.
You embarrassed yourself, Chris. (Though Newt did a good job of making you look like a jerk)
Susan Ferrechio did the best job of any of them.

I thought Newt came out swinging and put the media in their place. FOX NEWS is the one I watch but they were playing “ GOTCHA” last night,or trying to anyway. Gingrich spoke with authority and was having none of it. He impressed me the most.

Yep, his only goal was to stir up controversy. It was disappointing that it wasn’t until he got to Newt, that someone called him down on it. I would have felt much better about Bachmann, Pawlenty, and Romney if they had refused to take him up on it and thrown it back in his face.

I listened to most of it on the radio and enjoyed the answers and the audience responses quite a bit.
Wallace, on the other hand, is a known quantity. He only surprises me when he acts like a journalist.
Needless to say, I'm not surprised very often.

We are not in the Presidential race, we are in the primaries. We need the candidates to focus on solutions, not on fighting amongst themselves.
Chris Wallace's questions weren't aimed at informing the voters, they were solely intended to cause strife. There is plenty of time for candidates to prove themselves against the MSM, right now Republicans need information, not a cat fight. Leave the anger and hatred to the Democrats and focus on ideals. There will be plenty of time for hostile questions later.

I sent in a nasty gram to F&F. I asked if Media Matters was blackmailing him.

The whole evening was a farce if you aks me.
Bunch of self-aggrandizing stiffs with no command of the English language and no real vision for the future. I did this and I did that and I did the other thing. None of which has made a hill of beans of difference. Except for Herman Cain. At least he can point to some actual accomplishments.
But, still, I'd take any one of them over Urkel.
Even Ron Paul. Oh, crap. Did I really say that? The world is over.

IIRC, he had a spat with Howie Carr (radio host in Boston) and never returned as a guest. That was a few years back. Maybe RaccoonRadio can confirm.
To: Lazamataz
I don’t know. Why don’t you ask the mods that?

I can barely tolerate political coverage anymore. The media are total half wits. All of them.
They think the process of learning about our candidates for president is a clever gottcha game that they orchestrate based on their incompetent, uninformed and petty world views. We see what their gaming got us last election and the condition of our corrupt political elite is a reflect of their political manipulation games.

The mods love me. They often call me late at night and we pillow-talk.
I think Cool Admin Moderator has a crush on me.

The way I heard it: they broke in late at night and held a pillow over your face.
That’s Mod-Love for you. It’s on a higher plane than our human emotions.

They did hold a pillow over my face. But, it was lightly-scented with lavender, and at 1000 thread count, it was comfy. They love me.

You are absolutely correct. Wallace wanted to stir up controversy and he did just that. What was discussed after the debate? Newt's smack down of Wallace and the playground sandbox squabble between Pawlenty and Bachmann. Has any attention been paid about the substantive answers given by the candidates to substantive questions? Too bad. Newt shined on substance. Cain and Santorum gave solid answers in most cases and the three of them showed they have solutions to the problems America faces. Whose solutions are best? No one knows. We are too busy discussing Wallace, FoxNews and Pawlenty pulling Bachmann's hair instead of which Republican candidate showed the ability to lead. Paragraphs are our friends but FR is not permitting me to include breaks at the moment!
To: SaraJohnson
Have you heard about Jim DeMint's upcoming presidential forum in SC?
DeMInt is also disgusted with the debate forum...trying to answer a substantive question in 60 seconds.
The date hasn't been announced as yet..but he's only goign to invite those polling 5% or more in the RCP average on 8/22. It's not goign to be a debate per se..each will have about 25 minutes, indivudally, to answer questions of a panel..
FYI..there's an article today on rollcall.com about it, scroll down on the home page..
