There are many here on Free Republic that absolutely love our "Fru-babies". We post pics and follow each other, well I thought it would be terrific if we post the pictures of our 'babies'.
I don't know about you all but mine 'get me through' these nightmarish days. They love me no matter what. They are there and want to be with me no matter what. That includes the way I now look in the mornings! LOL!
Show YOUR babies here... :) Here are a few of mine both past and present...
LMAO!!!
I have a orange Tabby named Sarah. One night I got the flu and was barely able to make it to the bathroom to upchuck.
While I was barfing, I heard Sarah in the hallway outside the bathroom door. She started puking as well.
I started to laugh and thought, Now theres a friend.
And she knows when it Friday. She runs around the house when her people get home and starts clowning about.
Cats and dogs..where would be be without them?
Yes it is very obvious Viking. I know exactly how you feel .. that hurt comes up when I think about my collie too.
That’s why Rainbox Bridge is such an awesome poem. Our babies will be waiting for us.
They do so much for us and love us no matter what. They become like kids in a way. I always tell everyone I have a couple of 3 year olds with fur coats. :)
LOL. Now that’s funny..
Now give him a shot a stardom. Post a pic of him.
You didn't think I was going to let her go without a private cremation, did you?
What a terrific idea. It never occurred to me about cremation and what a beautiful and comforting thing to have especially with the reference to the Rainbow Bridge. Rhubarb dearly loved you didn’t she; truly the daddy’s girl.
Hopefully I won’t have to contend with that for a bit but my old smokey is beginning to show signs :( but when the time comes that is what I will do. Thank you for sharing that.
Thank you.
That’s the *only* downside to Dobermanns.
Losing them is like losing a huge chunk of your soul.
You never get over it.
Case in point, I still grieve for my Wonder Dobe who died on my birthday in 1984.
That one was a kick in the gut that I just cant’ ‘get past’.
In 1991, God blessed me with Minny the Ibizan and she took my mind off the pain.
In 2002, just past her 13th birthday, she left me, too.
Ever since that, I’d been in emotional free fall, doing my best to make my other dogs’ lives the best they can be and loving them all...but there was always that huge, gaping hole in my heart and soul.
In 2009, God gave me another shot and Odin came into my life.
I can’t adequately express my gratitude and joy for that undeserved mercy.
Suffice to say that I would kill or die for that big goof.
He staunched the bleeding.
Some dogs you always remember...some dogs, you -never- forget.
I’m sorry about your red Dobe.
I know how exactly it feels, all too well.
For reasons I can’t fathom, it’s said that a lot of FReepers really like me and quite a few of them keep me in their prayers.
[y’all know who you are]...:)
I truly do appreciate that but I’d rather they pray that Odin lives a very, *very* long and healthy life.
If that happens, I can handle just about anything else.
If he’s okay, I’m okay, no matter what else.
I never thought of allergy’s with my lab, but the new vet said allergies act different with dogs....he said they lick their paws alot...surprised me cause pepper is always licking her paws...she was put on a gluten free dog food and that helps. He said I could buy it from him but instead gave me the name of 4 gluten free dog foods on the market...she is on blue buffalo feed now. He also has her on benadryl 75 mg twice a day...she rarely licks herself anymore so it must be working...allergies could also be part of the problem with her ear/yeast problem..
Thank you...I’m counting on seeing them again. I hope :)
I just got in on the end of this, but if you think about it, dogs are not natural grain eaters. I have been feeding grain free foods for awhile, my dogs have done much better on them. I feed EVO but there are a number of them out there. I don’t know if it’s because it’s gluten free, OR if it’s because the major source of protein is what dogs are supposed to eat (meat). We feed dogs grain as their major source of protein because it’s cheap, not because it’s best for them. :)
OMG! Good thing the vehicle owner had not started the engine before discovering the dog. I wonder if Shorty Rossi of Aminal Planet’s Pit Boss heard about this.
I doubt if the truck would start. ;)
