Which Have More Stamina? The sled dogs that compete in Alaskas annual Iditarod run about 1,100 miles in less than two weeks, often in temperatures as low as -40 degrees F. They use fat as their primary energy sourcefar better than any other athletic species thats been studied, says exercise physiologist Michael Davis, who notes that a 55-pound husky can burn as many as 12,000 calories a day. Daviss research has also shown that sled dogs have an enormous capacity to process oxygen. Cats are more like sprinters: Theyre capable of short bursts of energy but lack the aerobic endurance of ultra-runners like huskies.

Have-A-Heart trap
PS: 4 inside cats is insane. I know. We have 4 Hobos lounging in our house. 3 outside ones as well.
Mozlems breathe, eat, and excrete too. Does that mean we should all stop breathing, eating, and excreting?
Your point is superstitious and risible.
You did this on another thread too. I was listening to you and nodding until you said this about cats and m0-HAM-mad’s cutting his sleeve off to keep from waking his cat. I bet you believe that stupid fairy tale, too.
When you stop making sense, you aren’t worth the bother.
Thanks for the info. The trap in the pic is very similar to the one we have. We do have to do it soon before more litters appear — hopefully next week. Our “Planned Pethood” organization will take in ferals between 7:30 am and 8:30 am without an appointment, so we just need to catch before midnight, stop food and water, and take in the next morning. Thanks again!
When the “Professional” kitten catcher came over, she put newspaper on the bottom of the disabled traps and sprinkled food in. I had a couple days until they were to be snipped, so they got used to eating in the trap. When the day came, I set the doors to drop and caught them one at a time. I would catch one and hustle it out to the barn and wait for the next. A real pain, but if those guys didn’t get worked on, we would be loaded with cats. One of the 6 month olds was already pregnant. Unbelievable.
Oh yeah? Take this:

This is how cats practice their Sith-like fighting skills. :-)
