Catalina, Az.! Well that’s a first! Do you live there now? The only Catalina I know is in Calif.! :)
Well, I am an avid sailor, who lived in CA for 30 years(1976-2006) so YES, I have sailed to Catalina CA many times. Truth to tell, although the people here are by and large much more friendly and kind than CA’s, I miss the ocean : )
A 47-year-old Austrian man gave away his entire $4.7 million fortune after concluding that his wealth and lavish spending were keeping him from real life and happiness. Karl Rabeder told the Daily Telegraph (London), I had the feeling I was working as a slave for things I did not wish for or need. It was the biggest shock in my life when I realized how horrible, soulless, and without feeling the five-star lifestyle is. His money now funds charities he set up to help people in Latin America.
Proverbs 4 urges us to consider carefully our own road in life. The passage contrasts the free, unhindered path of the just with the dark, confused way of the wicked (v.19). Let your heart retain my words; keep my commands, and live (v.4). Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life (v.23). Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established (v.26). Each verse encourages us to evaluate where we are in life.
No one wants to go through life on a selfish, heartless road. But it can happen unless we consider where we are going in life and ask the Lord for His direction. May He give us grace today to embrace His Word and follow Him with all our hearts.

Cowboy Boots
Anyone who has ever dressed a child will love this one!
Did you hear about the Texas teacher who was helping one of her kindergarten students put on his cowboy boots? He asked for help & she could see why.
Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots still didn’t want to go on. Finally, when the 2nd boot was on, she had worked up a sweat.
She almost cried when the little boy said, “Teacher, they’re on the wrong feet.” She looked and sure enough, they were. It wasn’t any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as together they worked to get the boots back on, this time on the right feet.
He then announced, “These aren’t my boots.”
She bit her tongue rather than get right in his face and scream, “Why didn’t you say so?” like she wanted to. And, once again she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet.
No sooner they got the boots off and he said, “They’re my brother’s boots. My Mom made me wear ‘em.”
Now she didn’t know if she should laugh or cry. But, she mustered up the grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots on his feet again.
Helping him into his coat, she asked, “Now, where are your mittens?”
He said, “I stuffed ‘em in the toes of my boots.”
Her trial starts next month .
Bar-B-Q
It’s the only type of cooking a “real” man will do. When a man volunteers to do such cooking, the following chain of events is put into motion.
(1) The woman goes to the store.
(2) The woman “fixes” the salad, vegetables, and dessert.
(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils, and takes it to the man, who is lounging beside the grill.
(4) The man places the meat on the grill.
(5) The woman goes inside to set the table and check the vegetables.
(6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning.
(7) The man takes the meat off the grill and hands it to the woman.
(8) The woman prepares the plates and brings them to the table.
(9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.
(10) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed “her night off.” And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there’s just no pleasing some women.
Not long ago I met the waitress of my dreams.
About halfway through dinner I called the waitress over and said, “Ma’am, this potato is bad.”
She nodded, picked up the potato and smacked it. Then she put it back on my plate and said, “Sir, if that potato causes any more trouble, you just let me know.”
This is beautiful, Dubya. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Praying that God is comforting you as he holds you close during the chemo and the radiation treatments.
Thank you for the humor and inspiration that you bring us everyday.
Beautiful, Meg.

Thanks for starting my day with great humor!
I would love to, Amy, thanks! It is gorgeous out there!
Forgive us Father for our timid dedication to thee. We like sheep need a shepherd daily. Help us to be steadfast and able to tell all we meet of thee and how thou has changed our life.
King James Version (KJV)
“12.Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13.For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. ...”

We are surrounded by needs of others. Are our charities teaching the receivers how to stand and contribute to their own needs? It is my idea the receivers of the entitlement or welfare programs must all have and perform a service for the United States of America. One they engage in ... in order to receive funds from others. Something for nothing is a huge problem. Too much free time and nothing to contribute is a recipe for disaster. MOO.
As Paul wrote ...' he who does not work does not eat'.
