Forgot to say something. Since my daughter and hubby died, I sure do not want to go to the movies. She died in 2004 and he died 2 years later from liver cancer.

How do you know how much I read??

No rules against it... Just doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t usually read threads that don’t interest me. But, that’s just me.

Maybe I’ll go to one of those Catholic threads and post that I don’t like the way they do Communion?

Sorry to hear about your losses... but, what do their deaths have to do with movies?

I mean.. if you don't like movies, fine.. don't go. But, I would never stop doing something that I enjoy just because my wife died.

I do try to avoid any movie that deals with cancer victims... I've seen enough of that up close, in person. I go to movies to be entertained... not, to be made depressed.

Well, frankly, it is none of your business what this great grandmother reads and comments on. You can do the same! : ). I promise I won’t make a big deal of it. Time to make a sandwich!

I wonder if you make sandwiches out of things you don't like?? :-)

Don't go away mad, Mama... you can post on anything you like. You've earned the privilege.

Well, now that you put it that way, I am glad their movie flopped. A socialist paridise, like government motors, is what they need to succeed.

I know Republicans don’t go after anti-Republican industries with punitive taxation like the Rats do. But wouldn’t it be fun to see movies taxed out the wazoo like sun tanning, gas and tabacco...

Who gets mad? I have had worse on some of the sports forums I go to every day. Some do not seem to think that a girl should know anything about football. My sandwich was so good—ham and avocado slices. Think I will fix another one in a little while. Should have gotten some onions and mayonnaise for it but the mustard was very good! Should have fixed one for you! Forgot to get chips, too. Oh, well. Did not need any. Since I do not have anyone here to give trouble to, it had to be you today. Aren’t you thrilled? Knew you were.

I never saw any appeal by Julia Roberts. She’s unattractive and has basically only two expressions: grief and fear.

Let me tell you how I came to that combo. I had bought some avocados for dip but forgot to get everything else. Had the ham, some mustard and bread so added the avocado to the sandwich. It was so good. I have to take up for myself since I do not have anyone else. Well, my daughter and her family live here but she works most nights until after midnight. That is what happens when the boss, her dad, dies and she had to take over. I do not intend to be mean but some things just plain out bother me! Wow, just remembered I have salad stuff so can add the avocado and maybe some ham to that tomorrow. : ) Wonder if watermelon would taste good in a salad. Just might have to try that.

Wife and I saw it last night. It was good, had some humorous parts to it. Nothing political, it was just a chick flick, and not a bad one. It's JUST AM MOVIE. Mindless entertainment. Sheesh, everything doesn't have to be political, for crying out loud. Some of the posts here sound like DU talking about conservatives. Yeah, they may be libs, but the movie was good. Leave the hate to the libs, enjoy the show.

Although Hanks getting fired for the sole reason of not having a college education was stupid, he was a dedicated hard working employee. So there was a shot at WalMart (UMart in the movie). Anyway, its worth taking the wife to see it.

Once.

Only the STOOPID ones... my wife LOVES football... which means, I get to watch all the football I want. Winning!

She's won our local fantasy league twice.

Sorry.. but, I HATE avocados. No sandwich for me, please.

I don't let that keep me from enjoying a decent movie.

I do--although strictly speaking, I never saw a Julia Roberts film worth seeing again. But my rule of thumb is, if a celebrity makes a hateful statement about conservatives, Republicans or libertarians, I consider the source. If the person has true talent, I overlook the comment and continue to enjoy their talent. If the person is mediocre, I boycott them. I haven't seen a single Julia Roberts film since she made that idiotic remark.

Really? I saw several that I liked alot... The Pelican Brief, Flatliners, Notting Hill, Charlie Wilson's War, Mystic Pizza... and, yes.. even Pretty Woman.

And, nutjob or not, Tom Hanks is one the best actors of my time.

I grew up in a small MS town. I grew up listening to Jack Cristil for the MS State Bulldogs. I must have been about 6 or so. I got a sheet of paper, drew the yard lines and kept up with the downs, etc. He taught me football. I still love the game. About 2 years ago I started dating a wonderful man who just happened to have played for AU. When I found that out, I told him that at least he did not play for Bama. The Bama fans I have met drive me nuts. Now, I can say Go Dawgs and War Eagle with the best of them. Oh, forgot to mention, I met my late hubby on July 1 when we were students at MS State. Our 1st date was on July 4, 1962. Have been thinking about that a lot lately. He is missed.

Damn...this guy is a bleeding idiot. I missed this comment. I supposed we invited the Germans and Italians to a cook out.

I guess we should have just apologized to the Japanese for not having carriers at Pearl Harbor and not painting targets on the remaining fleet.

This statement really pisses me off. I believed you that he said it, I guess my question was more statement of incredulous wonder. What a first class, self-proclaiming “enlightened” historian pr**k.

I never liked these two even in their heydey, now they’re just a couple of washed up has beens. The fact that they are both typical Hollywood liberal socialists makes their demise all the better. They have become caricatures that nobody are interested in anymore. Good riddance losers.
