(CNN) -- Southwest Airlines disciplined a pilot whose profanity-laced rant about flight attendants was heard by other airplane crews and controllers, officials said Wednesday.
The unidentified pilot bashed flight attendants as a "continuous stream of gays and grannies and grandes," according to a transcript of the March 25 flight over central Texas. The pilot on the Austin to San Diego flight was referring to the sexual orientation, age and attractiveness of flight attendants.

As I posted up the thread, a lot of them are making real good money as pharma reps.
I knew a waitress who wanted to be a Pharma rep. Bleached blonde hair, baby blue contact lenses, likely enhanced chest and a genuine baby doll voice.
I know if she came into my office selling meds, I'd want to buy.
Knew another waitress who was well endowed (probably real) who wanted a job in finance. I told her if she went into an interview with only male bosses and giggled that she "was good with figures", she'd get the job but if there were any women interviewing her, she'd have no chance.
You can lay the blame for lowering the standard to Unions, ACLU, and NOW. The airlines probably don’t have any choice but to comply with the court orders!
They used to come from the modeling industry, and being a stewardess was quite the glam job! They also had height-weight requirements. I remember being a young girl and admiring them back then. They were much nicer too. And the flights cost more but it was a better quality of people all the way around.
Stuck mikes occur all the time and in many industries. This is about some reporter getting wind of something that he could sensationalize and get his name on the national news. Nothing more than that.
After the pilot's microphone finally disengaged, other airline pilots then broadcast messages to Houston Center air traffic controllers, trying to catch up on flight instructions that they were unable to exchange during the broadcast.
So the fact that other pilots were unable to contact the Air Traffic Control Tower is not important?

That is part of the sensationalism being engaged in here. There are ALWAYS alternate channels for these communications and they are in place for just this sort of an event. It happens ALL the time. If the truth be known, I doubt that any meaningful communications were disrupted for more than a few seconds.

Well, I’ll say this much. The young women I saw were drop dead gorgeous. Men and women stopped and gave them lots of room. I guess Singapore Airlines has that rep.
I’m sorry. Man, woman, or child, a person likes beauty and grace and can tell when they’re around these qualities.
Oh I see, the Air Traffic Controllers and other pilots are the assholes to complain. Got it. Someone you assume is a professional, in charge of a 60 or 70 lives, is more interested in talking about the quality of his sex life than in paying attention to his job and that is just fine according to you.

What I said was that this sort of thing happens in lots of places all the time but some local reporter saw a way to get his name in lights, if even for a little while, and took full advantage of the opportunity.
