I would die tired (and real hungry) using this method.

"controversial theory of evolution:"
The other theory is that we got tired of running and used our brains more for ambush & stalking. Later we developed progressively better hunting weapons.

That is alot of burned calories (7 men x 4 hours of running) for not that much of a payback...

And they can catch a salmon in the Pacific by swimming underwater and chasing it until it tires out. They tried it once, but a killer whale ate all the participants.

Nine men chasing a pronghorn for a full day with possible payoff of the meat from a 130 pound animal.
I’m sure somebody could run a calories expended versus calories obtained from a successful hunt analysis.
It doesn’t sound like a particularly efficient way to get food.
The Bushmen more frequently get just close enough to put a poison arrow or two into an animal, then chase it until it collapses.

I appreciate their experiment but, with all the adrenaline being expended by these animals, the meat is going to be very gamy to say the least.

Right, so how much energy are three or four guys going to get out of one very lean antelope, not to mention the wife and kids back at the cave.
I don’t think it’s a paying business.

I have heard that a man can run down a horse. Man’s endurance is greater. However the item in the article which is significant is that the prey animal has developed techniques to throw man off of the trail. Ancient man had to get close. He also could set traps.
