For some time, I have been considering closing Amy’s Place again.
As I see many of our regulars leaving us, it has made my decision much easier.
I have been AWOL much of the time the past 6 months. I have had many family matters to attend to and I am tired. There just are not enough hours in the day. :(
Instead of closing down, I will continue posting an opener on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I know that Rus will be here every day with ODB. If Meg and Billie feel like continuing to open the doors on Sunday and Tuesday, I would appreciate it. I hope that Dubya will continue sharing jokes and stories and that Johnn will continue as our resident chef.
There will be many days that I do not return to the site after the opener. I hope to continue Opening the doors through the end of the year. I will monitor the thread to gauge interest. I love Amy’s Place and all of the friends that I have made here.
Wishing everyone a beautiful day, a lovely spring, a wonderful summer and a fantastic fall.
Not much on the earthquake, but extensive coverage about the explosion at Habad Temple in Santa Monica. What an awful news day today!

LOL!
(((HUGS))) Thank you, pam
I know your plate has been overflowing...I am trying to get my back well enough for a week at my daughter’s and may have to miss a Sunday..but am hoping I can use a flashdrive and my daughter’s computer if mine won’t connect to her system.
Take a week off, Amy..Announce it and we’ll all understand!
I think your plan is fine...It will live or die..
I love Amy’s Place and will sorely miss seeing my FRiends here. I have enjoyed the privilege of hostessing Sunday’s at Amy’s.
Thank you!
I may not comment as frequently as in the past but I’m generally here everyday.
Lately I’ve taken up reading lots of books. A good story keeps me captivated.
Just finished reading the last book of the trilogy by Steig Larssen, “The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest”. Couldn’t seem to put those three books down until I finished them. When my eyes would no longer remain open, I’d head off to bed and pick up where I left off in the morning. ;^)

Amy, Dont feel you need to do an opener daily. When you are pushed .tired & stressed the last thing you need is another required duty. Check in when you can, keep people posted & make as your primary duty the once a month new thread. Most of us have lots of changes & “situations” in our lives also. I know for many this IS their home stomping grounds and for many of us a delightful place to on occasion connect with special people we like. I think you would find others (even me) willing to post the once a month opener if you need a break for a few months ...
love you honey!
oh! Mabe it did then. ROTFL!
WOW!!! What a stunning graphic of two parrots (hope I’m correct!)! Their colors are breathtaking! So cute what you said! Thanks very much!!
Way too cute graphic! And the quotes are so good Thank you!!
An old preacher was dying. He sent a message for his IRS agent and his Lawyer (both church members), to come to his home. When they arrived, they were ushered up to his bedroom.
As they entered the room, the preacher held out his hands and motioned for them to sit on each side of the bed. The preacher grasped their hands, sighed contentedly, smiled and stared at the ceiling.
For a time, no one said anything.
Both the IRS agent and Lawyer were touched and flattered that the old preacher would ask them to be with him during his final moment.
They were also puzzled because the preacher had never given any indication that he particularly liked either one of them.
Finally, the Lawyer asked, "Preacher, why did you ask the two of us to come?"
The old preacher mustered up some strength, then said weakly, "Jesus died between two thieves, and that's how I want to go, too."
Beautiful birds, I like lots of color.
Beautiful picture!
