A Troublesome Fruit (Adam & Eve Joke )

It wasn't the apple that caused the trouble in the Garden of Eden, it was the pair on the ground.

The Confused Samaritan

A man was beaten up by robbers on a road to London. He lay there, half dead and in bad shape. A Vicar came along, saw him and passed by on the other side. Next, a monk came by but also walked quickly on the other side. Finally, a social worker came along, looked at the man and said "Whoever did this needs help!"

Domestic Problems

Adam was walking outside of the Garden of Eden with Cane and Abel when the boys were young. Cane and Abel looked into the garden and viewed waterfalls, lovely birds, lush forests and fruit trees bending over because of the large amounts of fruit on them.

Then they took a long look at where they lived at. It was dry, dusty with weeds and sickly-looking trees.

"Daddy? Why don't we live in there instead of out here?" they asked innocently.

Adam said, "Well sons. Eve and I use to live in there at one time. But your mother ate us out of house and home."

Q: Why do hummingbirds hum?

A: Because they don't know the words.

--------------

Q: Where does a blackbird go for a drink?

A: To a crow bar.

---------------

Q: Why was the crow perched on a telephone wire?

A: He was going to make a long-distance caw.

-------------------

Q: What did the chick say when it saw an orange in the nest?

A: Look at the orange mama laid.

--------------

Q: Is it good manners to eat fried chicken with your fingers?

A: No, you should eat your fingers separately.

---------------

Q: Why do hens lay eggs?

A: If they dropped them, they'd break.

Same here, Conor. We have had many dogs and cats through the years. The two Shelties were the first thorough breds we had. Bur all the ones we had before were dearly loved as much as others! When I read Rainbow Bridge and get to the part where it says “when your pet looks up and suddenly spots you”.....thats where I break!

Was sorry to hear of the worries you all have been through with the threatening tornadoes. Prayers went up from here and I’m hoping for a good report this morning. I’m sorry for all those who were affected by this storm. Keep us informed, please!! This is a time of year with so many storms, none of us know for sure when one is heading directly our way. We have had some real scares in the past. (((HUGS)))

Sir Winston is the first pedigreed pet have ever had. He is absolutely the most affectionate dog we've ever had.

The Penny Syndrome
April 11, 2011

The penny has been called the most despised unit of US currency. Many people will not bother to pick up a one-cent coin if they see it lying on the ground. But some charities are finding that pennies add up to significant sums, and that children are generous givers. As one participant said, “Small contributions can make a huge difference.”

The Bible account of David and Goliath describes a seemingly insignificant person whose confidence in God was greater than any of the powerful people around him. When David volunteered to face the giant Goliath, King Saul said, “You are not able to go against this Philistine” (1 Sam. 17:33). But David had faith in the Lord who had delivered him in the past (v.37).

David did not suffer from “the penny syndrome”—a sense of inferiority and helplessness in the face of an overwhelming problem. If he had listened to the pessimism of Saul or the threats of Goliath, he would have done nothing. Instead, he acted with courage because he trusted God.

It’s easy to feel like a penny in a trillion-dollar deficit. But when we obey the Lord in every circumstance, it all adds up. Collectively, our acts of faith, large or small, make a big difference. And every penny counts.

It matters not how large or small
Your faith may seem to be;
What really counts is whom you trust
In life’s uncertainty. —Fitzhugh

Courage will follow when faith takes the lead.

Read: 1 Samuel 17:32-37

The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion . . . , He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine. —1 Samuel 17:37

Hi! All is well and we got by with only some wind and nothing that was strong enough to damage anything.

Our local weatherman was saying on the 10pm news that our area had storms to the south and north and just our little area got missed. Whew! What a relief.

I have to call my relatives in northern WI and see how they did.

Hi there! All is well and the worst storms went to the south and north and by some miracle (prayer!) we were spared.

It was miracle #3.

Too bad I worried so much. That was a waste of time!

: )

I’m going out to the greenhouses and will be back inside around 6pm. Be back to Amy’s Place this evening.

But of course, the window seat it is! Do you want Maple syrup with those waffles?

Dogs are welcome in the cyber cafe, and Hans (the new German kid on the service staff) will feed the dog our special for dogs, ground chuck with a rich brown gravy, followed by a large bone to gnaw on with considerable enjoyment as they lay in the sunshine and snooze.

"Loose Fitting Clothing"

April teaches many aerobic classes. She told a lady who was looking to sign up for the class to just wear loose fitting clothing to the class.

"Honey," the lady replied, "if I had any loose fitting clothing, I wouldn't be signing up for an exercise class."
