2004 Dodge Pickup Runs on 100% Water (I want one)
PESNetwork ^ | 2-25-2011 | Fredrick Wood

Posted on 02/25/2011 11:12:33 PM PST by Frantzie

Inventor Frederick W. Wood, and his associate, David Seigler, from Future Energy Concepts, Inc., give a video tour of the pickup truck that they claim to have converted to run on nothing but hydroxy gas, electrolyzed on-board, and on-demand, via a super-efficient electrolysis (from water) method they have developed. Their system allegedly produces 55 liters per minute on 55 amps. They also say the truck recently completed a road trip of more than 3000 miles, running on this set-up.

These guys crack me up. Their personality, excited about their development, is contagious and funny. I could see this video going viral just for those reasons.

FOLLOW-UP Chava Energy (http://www.chavaenergy.com ) was present on April 21 to validate the technology. However, it turned out that the claimed technology was not in a condition to be tested during the visit and the Inventor Fred Wells was not present either, only his business partner. Therefore, none of the claims could be validated and Chava Energy generously offered to conduct a test in the future once the system is running reliably.

Well if, and that's a big if, it's the real deal, seems easy enough to build.
Hope like hell it is, but would need real solid confirmation (university physics dept).

“Aw jeez.... not this crap again.

It has all the usual hallmarks of these alternative energy scams: a clear violation of the Second Law of Thermo, it isn’t “quite ready” to test, the technical guy isn’t on hand when the outside technical guys come to visit...”

LOL! Or... the greedy, evil oil companies are conspiring to keep it from the market.

I am going to Ace Hardware tomorrow and I will build one and let you know. I will put it in the pickup first.

I wonder if I will need to bleed off ALL of the HHO or hydrogen gas first if I have to modify something in the truck bed with an acetylene welder. I may want to take it out of the bed first.

The “bling” with my AMG S65? Yeah I know. I should have left that out. I will try the pickup first. I just need to be careful with the acetylene welder.

It’s not necessarily impossible for this to happen. It is just a question of efficiency.

If it can be done, but you’re only getting a couple of miles to the gallon equivalent, or the power generated is so low that you cannot carry cargo, it’s just not useful.

Our version 6c prototype was disabled by a crack in the container wall. We are building a second version 6c while the first one is being analyzed for why it failed. Concurrently some of the team is developing a version 6d moving forward.

so it may or may not have worked before it failed. Maybe some day.

Till then DRILL BABY DRILL!

No one has pointed out that this amounts to a perpetual energy machine. Its a total BS claim.

The key to the success or failure of this device is the "super-efficient electrolysis".

Power lost to electrolysis is the Achilles heel of all these HHO start-ups.

People who blithely throw up the "this amounts to a perpetual energy machine" usually have substituted reaction for thought, as pretty adequately demonstrated in this case by your failing to use the correct term, "perpetual motion machine."

"Here is how you build one. I have some hand tools, a drill press, a vise and have done minor electrical works so I may try."

If you want the full power version-that's the one with the 55L H2 generator: You'll need 7900A/min, not the 55A/min mentioned in the story. That'll only get you 0.38L/min of H2. So you'll need an ~16kW generator with an ~28HP motor to run it. You'll need some kind af a lift(~1 ton) too, 'cause it's heavy.

It is not perpetual energy. When you run out of fuel, in this case water (the hydrogen in the H2O), it will stop. So calling it perpetual energy would be inaccurate.

Power lost to electrolysis is the Achilles heel of all these HHO start-ups.

That's the problem. According to the article they are using 660 watts (12 X 55) to produce enough fuel to power a V8 enough to move a pickup continuously. Lets say they are getting just 100 HP out of the V8 (real anemic by any standard), that should be much more than enough to turn a 25KW generator considering 2HP per 1KW is usually a good rule of thumb.
Using 660 watts to produce 25KW is really hard to picture :^)

Interesting. It’s 18 below zero outside. Does it work on solid state water?

I swear either someone is going to Wikileak the blueprints of a perpetual motion device found in the remains of a crashed UFO or an alien species will zoom by earth and take pity upon mabkind seeing how the world is at war over fossil fuels and they beam down a couple million of a Mr. Fusion device.

Or we can pretend that the decade of 2011 is like 1950 and someone walks by with a cellphone and we burn them at the stake.
