If the film is good for ~4000 x 6000 grains or better, what would be the best scanning resolution?
What does the development of the film cost?
What model is your Epson scanner?
oh, the cats in the cradle.....
I have a Mimaya Sekor from the early 80’s that needs new light seals.
That thing took great pictures.
Once you scan the negatives, what program do you use to turn it into an actual picture? I found some negatives from 4 July, 2000, of me and my children posing with the country band Black Hawk. I’d love to have those as pictures.
I have a Pentax film 35mm from the early 90s with a nice assortment of lenses.
The cool thing is that if I bought a current Pentax digital 35 like the KX, I could still use the old glass. They wouldn’t work in auto-focus mode, but they would still work in auto-exposure mode.
I have a 50mm that stops open to F-1.7, so its great for low-light work.
I have a couple of rolls of Extar 25, maybe I should put them up for bids.
Sweet!
I still have my Fuji ST701..black body f1.4 lens plus a 28mm wide angle lens I bought in 1971..took some great pictures, but I wouldn’t trade my digital Fuji.
What lens did you use?
I have an old dedicated film scanner that only connects to an old computer that runs Win 98. It still works but even with photoshop, I had a very hard time getting the color balance right with color print film. When I finally had something that worked with one roll of film, it would be off on the next roll. I would generally spent hours scanning and adjusting a single roll of film.
I finally gave up and went to the dark side.
I just got back from the local camera shop where a customer told me my Pentax K2 and lenses are in demand on eBay? I bought a Fuji KZ300 point and shoot to replace the Canon A 540 that I carry in my pickup for those spontaneous events that pop up because it has a equivalent 28 to 280 lens while the A 540 was about 35 to 140. It doesn’t seem to as intuitive to this novice as the Canon and I’m getting buyers remorse...
Always like your images, and the cats are no exception. The frontmost cat reminds me of the one I had for a few years - “Gray”. He seriously thought that he was a dog, and would fetch things for me on occasion.
I’m permanently in the digital world now. I have several film bodies, but I am so tuned in to digital now that I don’t think I’ll ever shoot film again. Maybe... :-)
I've got a Leica M6 TTL... love it (although it is like carrying a brick). I was/am/always will be a fan of film.
My German made machine is similar to this one:
A couple of years ago, CVS did develop-only—36 frames for $2.
My Canon Scanner, about 8 yrs old, is 'supposed' to scan negatives but I've never tried it as I can barely get a good scanned copy of my IL FOID Card to send to online Ammo companies.
But what I wanted to tip you off about is this neat website I always use for Equipment reference, it's: dpreview.com (Digital Photography Review). They have everything about any Digital Camera ever made. From their Review, the camera release date, the MSRP Price, and all of a Camera's Specs. They also have a members forum where a lot of questions and answers can be found on every Camera, Lenses, etc. And Registration Is FREE.
It was thanks to them that I found out yesterday that there was an Update Issued for my Nikon NX2 imaging software (In Dec, I goofed up my Nikon Website Account and had accidentally checked the box NOT to email me anything - Doh!).So in your 'spare time' :-) give dpreview.com a look.
