This morning suddenly discovered that I was being ordered by Youtube to create a Google account so that I may be able to login to Youtube . I know Google owns Youtube , but until this morning I have not had a problem . Folks who already have a Google account can easill link up . I don't want a Google account , but it looks like I have no choice . True ?
Google owns youtube. Their site, their rules.
They eliminated “Youtube” accounts
Your new account does not have to be related to Gmail just any email address.
Just because.
“Sign in to YouTube with your YouTube OR Google Account”
Scroll down and you can skip the google thing for now.
WOW! I just tried signing in under my old name and it won’t let me.
Hi, John....I dunno about Utube, but I avoid any Google operation. I do not trust anything they do.
For Search, I use Startpage as they do not record your IP, as Google does.
to bother you
I just signed in to my youtube account, at the bottom right it has a link when asking to link to my yahoo email:
Skip this for now (We’ll remind you again in a little bit)
It would let me bypass that option for the longest time, then one day I was forced to get a Google account....
I use Youtube quite a bit , and have many vids “ favorited “ , so it looks like I have no choice but to start a Google account . I don’t trust them but what can one do ?
Same thing happens to me. Have a YT account for the past 5 years and have always ignored them.
Google ARE evil.
No place to scroll down on the page I’m looking at . It’s either create a Google account of one can’t play .
Just make a gmail email account. Then link your Youtube to that. That’s what I did. It’s sort of a website circle jerk.
Dunno if google will take an email from “@yopmail.com”, but if so, it will keep the spam mailings at bay.
If I change my address to a Gmail address it won’t affect my current account ( favorites , etc...) , will it ?
I don’t need to.
They must not like you.
