Watch out for this scam...!

Police say that the gang usually is comprised of four members, one adult and three younger ones. While the three younger ones,

all are appearing sweet and innocent, divert their 'mark' (or intended target)

with a show of friendliness, the fourth--and the eldest-- sneaks in from behind the person's back to expertly rifle through his or her pocket or purse for any valuables.

Be on the alert...!!!

Scroll down to see photo of how it works.

And a wonderful Sunday to you!

I have a teacup with pansies, among my favorite flowers. More than a decade ago when I took a trip to Europe, I bought tea cups that came in a set with a matching desert plate. There were a variety of colorful floral designs, and I gave them as presents. Since then, I have not found any three-piece sets. Now I wish I had kept some.

Overcoming Bias
February 6, 2011

A Washington Post article reported that recent studies into the nature of prejudice found that almost everyone harbors biases, and these attitudes affect even those who actively resist them. A University of Kentucky psychologist says that much of our self-esteem comes from feeling better about ourselves than about others because of the group we belong to. Prejudice is not easy to overcome, even within the family of God.

Paul’s words to the believers at Colosse instruct us today, saying that our speech and behavior toward fellow Christians should reflect our oneness in Christ. “[You] have put on the new man,” Paul said, “where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all” (Col. 3:10-11). Instead of superiority and favoritism, we should demonstrate compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience toward each other (v.12). And above all, we are to “put on love, which is the bond of perfection” (v.14).

In the body of Christ, no race, nationality, or class is better than another. Through the cross, Christ has made us one, and we are to treat each other with honesty, dignity, and love.

It matters not what race or gender,
Rich or poor, or great or small,
The God who made us is not partial—
He sent Christ to die for all. —D. De Haan

Prejudice distorts what it sees, deceives when it talks,
and destroys when it acts.

Read: Colossians 3:8-17

There is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, . . . slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. —Colossians 3:11

Meg, your opening winter scene sure looks famaliar - *grin*.
And your pansies are so pretty.
Pansy faces all have an angel imprint,
And, when one looks at a pansy, the angel appears.

There are angels in so many flowers!

Angel Wing Begonia

Angels in My Garden

Among my gift begonias
Is one called “Angel-wing”,
So true to form I fancy
I hear the seraphs sing.
For surely higher beings
Inspired the, friendly hearts
Of my new next-door neighbors
To give me these “new starts”.

O Angels, hover always
About this garden spot!
Help- me to share life's blossoms
With those who have them not!
And from your shining wing-tips
Shake fragrance for the hearts
Of beauty-hungry thousands
Today, who need new starts!

Funnies

"May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations."
Psalm 67:1-2

The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right time, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

He who hesitates is probably right.

Did you ever notice: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are XL.

The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he can tell when he's really in trouble.

Did you ever notice: When you put the 2 words 'The' and 'IRS' together it spells 'Theirs!'

Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, think of Algebra.

Lord, Keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth . . ... . . . . . AMEN!

Speak when you are angry -- and you will make the best speech you'll ever regret. Laurence J. Peter
