That is a beautifully framed graphic, Meg! Thank you. (I wish I had a garden bed full of pansies.)
Have you ever heard the Legend of the Pansy? (There are several - but this one is so comforting to me....)
“Over 2,000 years ago on a desolate hill, a 33-year-old, innocent man was put to death. He used his last breath to ask forgiveness for those who persecuted him. As he nodded and silently slipped into eternity, a solitary tear fell from his eye and onto the parched ground below. A withering weed, struggling to survive at the foot of the cross, was touched by the tear. In an instant, it was transformed into the most beautiful of all flowers — the pansy.
“Since that day, the pansy has been favored by many, not only for its upturned face but also for its ability to withstand even the harshest weather conditions. The pansy continues to remind us to keep our focus turned toward heaven and that through Jesus Christ, we also have the strength to overcome even the darkest winters of our lives.”
