It’s a scam, and not the original recipe. The recipe is be adjusted for “modern tastes”.

Probably got some kind of corn or pumpkin in it. Wrong, wrong, wrong. And evil.
Love the founding fathers, but they made beer out of whatever was to hand.
Give me a beer made by a German immigrant to Texas. That's beer.

Jefferson was a cider and wine guy.
Acres of apples for cider, in the middle of cider country.

Hornsby hard cider is okay but Strongbow is much, much better.

I prefer a beer crafted by Scots-Irish immigrants to Colorado. :)

What most people don’t realize is that apples were originally farmed for cider - not for eating. And they were into it bigtime.
Montecello is either in or right next to Albemarle county - either the county was named for the apple or vice versa -

It’s an Ale not a beer, different yeast and fermentation process.

The Stout I make doubles as a fine beverage, and can be used as a substitute for spackle if your drywalling!!
Doesn’t pour out of the bottle. More like “rolls”!
Luv that stuff! Gotta do a batch!

If they’d offer a limited run that is true to original recipe, I’d be very interested in trying that.
Unless of course, the original was anything like some of the sketchy brews that resulted in Germany’s purity laws. :-)

I’m doing a batch of Mead now from a recipe given to me by another Freeper. Three weeks and it’s still ‘blurping’ in the fermenter. :)
