Agree with your analysis of what’s to come. However, I don’t think it’s only the black vote that Jacob gets. His actual voice is really that good. VERY good. It’s the package that is hard to take, whether you are black or white.

I predict he will be the last to go home of the 2nd tier.

In fact, maybe that is the best way to predict the top 4 or 5, by predicting who is going home first. I see Little Ricky heading home next week, unless Paul is as stupid as I fear he might be and again does not take his notes from the judges, and just stands up there and whispers with that big white smile.

After Little Ricky will go Haley or Paul. Probably Paul, because people will tap into the romance and not want to separate Haley from Casey.

Our two kitties are my only fellow girls too, until August. Only I think one of them is kind of mannish, like Miss Ann Hathaway on the Beverly Hillbillies... LOL.

I didn’t say that was the only votes he gets, I said he would pick up Naiama’s black votes. He’s probably already getting the flamer votes. Yeah Jacob has a nice voice, BUT he himself is off putting and I wouldn’t vote for him that reason alone.

I agree that the 3 on the bottom right now are Paul, Stefano, and Haley

American Idol' Announces 'Internet Hits and Memes' Week

With the competition's recent loss of its youngest contestant, American Idol has come up with a new way to appeal to a younger demographic.

"Season 10 is all about changes, and we've come up with a revolutionary new theme for this week that we're very excited about," producer Nigel Lythgoe says. Next week, for the first time ever, Idol contestants will sing hits and memes from the internet.

"Some of the songs have actually become quite popular," Lythgoe continued, "when it came time to choose their songs, the contestants fought over Rebecca Black's 'Friday,' but in the end, Pia [Toscano] prevailed in a game of rock, paper, scissors, and I think she and Jimmy Iovine will make magic with the song." Having struggled with song choice in the past, "Friday" isn't the only song choice you may recognize.

Lauren Alaina will be giving "Backing Up" an edgy twist, while Casey Abrams will take on the ever-popular "Bed Intruder" by Antoine Dodson. Stefano Langone is going "old school" by taking on Kelly's "Shoes."

Jacob Lusk, who will be singing "Chocolate Rain" by Tay Zonday, is quoted saying, "I'm just glad I got something that is actually a song."

This week will pose a challenge for a lot of contestants, and the producers, as they try to turn some non-musical memes into music.

"We've created a hard rock compilation of Charlie Sheen quotes for James Durbin to sing, and I think you're going to like what he does with it," Jimmy Iovine tells us.  While Haley Reinhart will be singing, "I'ma Let You Finish," a tribute to Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift at the VMAs, Scotty McCreery found a meme from a while back.

"When I saw that we could sing Chuck Norris jokes, I was like, 'I remember Walker, Texas Ranger, and that was pretty country, so this is for me,'" Scotty says.

Paul McDonald will be singing, "Twin Baby Boys Having a Conversation," and hopes America "gets it."

Or all but 2 were safe! Some prediction! hahaha

Where do you get 2? DI said 5 were safe and 6 were not. And 2 of the 6 were going home which means they predicted more than 50% were safe at the end. If you have a partial estimate (phone calls) and internet voting and text messaging are unknowns you still have a better measure than and arbitrary opinion. It's not perfect but it's better that nothing.

I predict that next week, Scotty, Pia, James, Jacob and Lauren will be safe and that from the rest, 2 2ill go home. Let’s see how accurate I will be!

No kidding. Bleeeech. I bought some cream puffs a while back at an in-store bakery, and they had that nasty larded sugar in them for the “cream” center. I threw them away.

Now the frozen little Bavarian cream puffs have real cream, and they are soooo heavenly! Mmmmmm.

I would bet the same thing but we except does two go home next week or one? But either way, we are only an arbitrary opinion, not a statistical sample.

That site is pretty much useless for predicting who will leave. All it is good for is to give an indication at the time of who might need some votes. If I recall correctly there is a limit to how many votes a person can cast via the internet. 5?

I think 5 is correct. I don’t do it because you have to sign up on their website. I think there is a limit on text votes too. I don’t even know how many phone votes are allowed. I’ve never voted except for the very first season and only a few times, I just enjoy watching all the chaos. Since it’s all scripted there’s very little “reality” in it, at least DI has some “real” perspective. Nigel Lythgoe has already picked who he wants to win and writes the judges scripts accordingly just like he does on SYTYCD. What has to be real is the vote counting, see the movie “Quiz Show”, or else they break the law. So I’m interested in testing the sample to make sure they aren’t “way off”.

I want to opt out of bulk cable at my HOA and do without tv so we can get our maintenance fees down. I'm pretty much down to watching AI, Spongebob Squarepants and the weather. I can do all that on line.

Serious inflation down here in Florida. I never thought I'd give up television but I'd rather pay bills for awhile. I'm on the board so I guess I'm goin' rogue with some other brd members. I need my AI. Then I want to drop the cable. I can watch the podcasts on a blog my cousin told me about.

"So excited to be expecting a little FReeperette finally this summer!"

God bless you. I have 4 boys. Expecting a grandaughter this summer, our first :) If your boys are anything like mine they will adore that baby. The 4th is always something special.

There is no limit to the amount of phone votes. Not sure about texts. I think that might be unlimited, too.

I don’t think it is fixed. Cowell certainly didn’t like Hicks, but enough voters did.

Last year’s winner hasn’t done well at all.
