Good evening!
The news & commentary continue to track yesterday's murders in Arizona. For some of the participants, it's not their finest hour, it's safe to say.
Meanwhile a strong, winter weather system moves across the Southern U.S. bringing snow and ice to places and people unaccustomed to such things.
Hope our ATRWers are safe and can keep their power. Folks are urged to stay home and not venture out.
What a pretty BLUE and ORANGE sunrise!!
Thank you, lysie....... Bright and cheery breakfast settings bring sunshine to an otherwise dark and COLD January day.
Hehehehehe!
You are welcome.
It is now light enough to see outside. There is a light coating of ice on many of our tree branches. But our power is on and so is the tv cable. A quick recheck of the weather radar indicates no more rain. Temps are in the low 30s and not expected to change. I’m still cautiously optimistic.
Chocolate a vegetable??!! Yes!
Hi CON...Hope you're doing well.
Very cold this a.m. and **** on the way...
I hope the weather improves.

prairie, I’ve heard nothing about any security at Giffords’s event...I’d be surprised if she had any.
Reckon I will be the only one WISHING for some snow today, remember one year snow covered the beech, strang looking seeing snow to the water, from white to blue just real quick
Sorry, Toby, I’m splitting with you on this one. Tomorrow, I won’t be so grumpy about bad weather, but I don’t want to risk the power and cable. Today is the big day!
HELLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The only reason I said this is I know it won’t happen, thankfully, I spent 3 years in Alaska a looooogn time ago, snow so hi on the ground could not do a thing, interesting times they were, use to put a can of er, beer, on the window seal and pull it back in after a short period of time and have instant cold beer, thankfull those days are long gone, beer time that is.

Good morning Toby and Neets.
GOOD MORNING! cloudy and cold here this A.M., rain falling but am hoping we will get some ‘white’ on the ground.
BUT I am glad that most of my bat around clothes are short pants.
None at all but some good brave staffers and folks at the rally. There will be big debate on if the feds should put out security or not, I happen to thank it is a local matter and local officers should be stationed at the politial events for safty for all attending, not federal officer, FBI, etc.
When I was in law enforcement I was was assigned to protection details for state and federal politians when they came to Greenville for talks, etc. I am NOT for sending Fed in to areas in the state to protect, locals should do it.
My thoughts on this matter, the feds can mess up a holiday.

Your meals look so very good, on diet # 644 for the year (which lasts for only a couple of days thanks to D’s cooking). She has me a low carb diet now, all of us are one it, prayer and fast, I will try, honest, D came over a and cleaned out my shack of ‘uneeded’ food, son’t think I am going to be able to slack this one.

Yesterday we were walking our dog here and met two recovery room nurses from the medical center where they took the wounded and they said they had never seen such a day. People who were coming to after surgery were worried about Gabby and asking how she was. They said it was so sad the grief some families had. Pray for Tucson that this lovely town won’t be blamed for the tragedy because of one sick person. The sheriff here well people here are outraged at his comments.
Barb and I spent most of yesterday revamping our cable and network connections. We have successfully put a new, quad-outlet in the wall behind the TV on its own, separate breaker. That will allow all of the entertainment center components and the Comcast box and wireless router to run under generator power if we lose power.
The cable box and wireless router are now up in the living rooms and as a result, I have excellent signal strength in the shop. Of course, the fax line is screwed up. I am rewiring the telepone jacks in the house to clean up that problem. I have the finish work to do downstairs and a network line to run to the office for Barb's printer, but we made a good first start.
Next, we need to clear the wireless router and totally initiate a new, fresh start on the network so that we can share files and printers.
Life goes on, but I am really getting fed up with the hypocracy of the leftist media regarding the shootings in Arizona.
