CNN) -- The suspect in the weekend massacre in Arizona scrawled "my assassination" and "I planned ahead" on an envelope found in his home, according to court documents released Sunday.
The details were part of criminal complaint filed against 22-year-old Jared Lee Loughner, the Tucson man now charged in Saturday's bloodbath at a supermarket where U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was hosting an open house for constituents. Investigators found a letter from the congresswoman in a safe at the house where Loughner lived with his parents, thanking him for attending a similar 2007 event, a federal agent's affidavit states.
"Also recovered in the safe was an envelope with handwriting on the envelope stating 'I planned ahead,' and 'my assassination' and the name 'Giffords,' along with what appears to be Loughner's signature," the affidavit states.

He is a lib hack. Tuscon and Pima county are bright blue.
Until a person is convicted they’re a suspect, or at most “the accused”. It’s cover from slander charges on the incredible slim chance it turns out it wasn’t him.
Good Lord! The article at WSJ says Roll was shaking Giffords’ hand when she was shot. The shot went through her head sideways. I wonder if the bullet went on to hit Judge Roll. I wonder if he even meant to hit Giffords.

I always wondered how the bullet would enter her temple and come out her forehead; it had to be shot at an angle. I wonder which direction Loughner came from, whether he was even aiming at her, or if he intended to hit Roll and accidentally nicked her at an angle.
Anybody know anything more about the angle of the shot?
The criminal charge sheet says they have digital surveillance of the event. Does anybody know if that has ever been shown online? Or would there be someplace where they have a drawing or something showing the positions of Giffords, Roll, Loughner, and the other victims?
She was shot in the left side of the head. http://www.freerepublic.com/%5Ehttp://uanews.org/node/36850
We already know the shot entered from the temple and came out the forehead. It only impacted one hemisphere of the brain so it must have just barely hit her going at an angle.
So Loughner came from slightly behind her on her left side. If she was shaking Judge Roll’s hand, Roll would have been to her right, and the gunshot would have been shot towards him.
I’m 3D challenged. Am I envisioning this right?
If I’m envisioning this right, he could have easily shot her in the back of the head and been done with it, shooting at less than 4 feet from her head. Or he could have shot at her torso/heart/lung area and had a bigger target.
I seriously wonder if he was shooting past her.
He did not reload, as best as I can determine. He shot the Glock dry, and then was tackled.
Here is an interview with an armed citizen who was on the scene and helped to subdue the assassin. It gives a few more details. Jared apparently had two more magazines in his pockets, but was unable to use them:
If you had listened to her neurosurgeon today, you would have heard him explain that the bullet transited the entire left hemisphere of her brain, so it did not go from temple to forehead as was previously reported. The trauma surgeon said that he believed that the bullet had gone from the back of her head (entry) to the front (exit). The neurosurgeon did not say either way, but did not challenge the other doctor.
A credible account of the chronology and geometry of the shooting has not been released as far as I know. That would have to come from the police or FBI after considerable investigation. Witness reports would be helpful, but not reliable in and of themselves.
Thanks for the link. I can’t see video on my computer. It has a virus that won’t allow me to install Flash Player.
I don’t know much about guns either. Would bullets have been coming out fast and furious like a machine gun? Or would each shot have been deliberate? How many bullets would he have gone through?
If he was shooting as rapidly as he could pull the trigger, he could easily shoot two or three rounds per second. People who practice a bit can do twice as fast as that.
It is very hard to be deliberate at that rate of fire, but it can be done. It is hard to believe that he put in the time an practice to become that skilled.
It is not hard to very rapidly fire a lot of rounds into a crowd at close range.
What are the chances that she would have had only one bullet to the head if he had been doing rapid fire at that point?
Impossible to determine. There are too many random factors in the universe. It is common for people using automatic weapons, with far less variables, to miss with most of the rounds fired.
