With the new members in the House it looks like there may be a chance to repeal some of Obama's over-reaching agenda.

My condolences to all those who live in Tucson.
I lived there for a few years in the early 1970’s and still have friends there. It is a wonderful city.

Wow! You are really good!

Yes....I'm about to de-couple from Facebook also.
It seemed a good idea once, but...too many issues, 1 large one is security, and keeping up with that alone.
Hi K.! thanks for the Tucson news. I hope to return there some day.

But sarongs don’t need tailoring. Just wrap and tuck! However, I can make men’s jackets. For a fee.

Personally, I’d try to be the voice of reason in the hope that at least one of them might have a brain cell click. But that’s me.

Well, thanks, but I have been all around, under, over and through with these people, and they are impervious to reason. I brought up the Daily Kos blog post (the one in which Kos was specifically talking about the AZ Congresswoman who was shot, say she was 'dead to me' because she didn't vote with Pelosi) and that, no, that is not an example of 'hate'. Oh no, because all Dems are *right* all the time...the slur on the Marine was the last straw, though...
And a proper formal sarong requires sequins! ;-))

What you wrote just now, Bit, reminded me of something that came to me this a.m....and prairie, it applies to what you said too.
many of us live in "divided" families...politically divided.
What happened yesterday is awful, and one of its aspects is to further those divides.
prairie...I tried to reason with such family members. It's impossible! And if I can't communicate with them....they label and emotionalize...then how can you can you get thru to someone...not quite as close perhaps..on a site like Facebook??
There's an older person in my family...he will pick up on what that sheriff is saying & take it all in because it fits his own predispositions.

they are impervious to reason.I hear you, I really do. If you tried and failed, it may be time to figure out of you want these people reading your FB posts.
I must say that FB was my primary news source yesterday when FR was down. Didn't like it, but it's true.

>>I am getting sick of the alarmingly large fraction of my ‘friends’ who are mindlessly linking this AZ shooting to the Congresswoman’s opposition campaign in the last election, which is being characterized as a ‘hate’ campaign.
I have since decided tHAT I’m going to call them something horrible if any one I know does that. Because I vote for that party and I listen to those talk radio show....so they’ll get it both barrels if they pull that c***
Besides...aren’t the bombers and terrorists working for Zero ?? The left encourages that sort of thing.
To: prairiebreeze; Molly Pitcher
Yes, FB started out as a way for my family to have a way to know that I was still alive (there is a history there that caused me to withdraw waaay back from a lot of my relatives after my parents passed). Now, FB is looking like a juvenile tool for young people (and immature older people) to 'express themselves'. But most of the stuff posted is unthinking claptrap.
A lot of this is due to indoctrination in college, and not a little indoctrination coming from their workplace (because they are teachers -- and they saw nothing wrong with the NJ school system admins praying for Gov. Christie's death in official e-mails, either -- just a joke, not hate!)
One even pedantically posted the Webster's definition of 'Pro*gress*ive' -- the adjective, not the pronoun -- not knowing one iota of the Progressive 'movement' throughout the early 20th century.
Emotion always counts more than reason, and on FB, it's all about how the 14-year-olds 'feel' -- I think because their critical thinking skills aren't all there yet.
But maybe that's just me. So I think the long-term solution is to unplug from FB and go somewhere else. ;-))
Oh, BTW, All day yesterday, National Review Online;s The Corner was consistently quicker to report and way more accurate than anything else I was reading, including FB.
ps. That sherriff in AZ has an agenda, and I tend to think that he was on the wrong side of the immigration law, too..

One wonders if Tucson hasn’t been overrun with liberal transplants from colder climes to have elected a sheriff like that.
