With the new members in the House it looks like there may be a chance to repeal some of Obama's over-reaching agenda.

Good advice. I’m just concerned about finding the right shade and the right design. It may be faster to just do it myself!

Thank you for your confidence. I’m a 12 now so this is a drastic diet. It may go through next year. We’ll see.

I am just about to delete my FaceBook account. I am getting sick of the alarmingly large fraction of my 'friends' who are mindlessly linking this AZ shooting to the Congresswoman's opposition campaign in the last election, which is being characterized as a 'hate' campaign.

Except...

- the 'kid' was a 22-year old who whas rejected by the Army when he tried to enlist (so NOT an 'Afghan War Vet')

- who was a Lefty from way back as far as high school (as attested to by former classmates on Twitter just yesterday, so NOT a Right Winger)

- who had been arrested twice, once at least for drugs (so NOT 'just a kid who was playing X-Box and then decided to go shoot somebody)

- whose favorite books are The Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf and was an admirer of Hitler (so NOT 'clinging to God and guns' -- and did anybody mention that the Congresswoman was Jewish?)

- who made incomprehensible YouTube videos about Gov't. mind control and references to Gitmo (so NOT a stable mind at all)

The AP article published on Yahoo! is but one fever swamp source for all of this for these deep thinkers. I think the worst implication of these dipwads is that the opposition campaign was inciteful in its own right because the guy was -- gasp! -- a former Marine! Because former Marines just like to shoot up a supermarket for fun, right?

It's either call these 'friends' on this despicable smear, or just cut contact with them. Easier to do the latter...;-))

A loon is a loon is a loon.

Clearly this “Kid” had/has psychological issues that none of us are qualified to delve into.

I don’t think it matters one iota what the political climate of the days is or was, he was going to snap sooner or later.

It is much like gun control, DWI laws, domestic abuse preventive programs and terrorists.

If someone is determined to follow through on whatever their character/moral/et al deficiency might be, they will find a way to do it and use any “blame vehicle” to latch on to it for or rather to blame it on.

However, the political climate today allows people who lack HONEST JUDGEMENT and or rational thinking(much like the Sheriff we heard yesterday who is clearly too emotionally connected to the victims to really be considered a reasonable “spokesperson” to thrust blame on whatever their “pet issue” or bone of contention might be.

I just ignore people who cannot make intellectually honest comments on what happened yesterday.

It is easier to do the latter but we must do the former. It is “engaging the enemy.” We can’t let them get by with their smears, even if they’re just repeating the lame stream. We have to say something like, “you know, that Yahoo article has almost 100% of their facts wrong.” And then we start pointing out the errors. Force your acquaintances to cut the connection, not you. Be aggressive!

As you know or not I stay in Tucson in the winter months. This morning at Mass the monsignor read a letter from our bishop and it contained the information that the little girl who was killed and the judge were catholic. The judge attended daily Mass and served as a lectionary. It ts a very shocking time in Tucson for all residents. Our priest is the chaplin at the University hospital where the trauma center is that the people were taken. It is a shame that Tucson is being treated like Dallas when JFK was shot and by our own sheriff! This is a lovely “big small town” and it does have the problems of other cities but I’d rather live here than Phoenix any day.

My condolences to you and the other members of your lovely city. I am sure it is a shock. No logical person could possibly blame the town for what happened. That boy is an evil person and he did an evil thing.

The only bit of consolation I can offer is that you know the little girl and the judge were received into the arms of our Savior and are now in the presence of God. This is a tragedy beyond speaking.

Monsignor said that Jesus said “Suffer the children to come unto me” and now she is with Him today. It was really sad as this is his 30th year anniversary at this parish.

Nope, sorry, can't 'engage' in a battle of wits with the unarmed.

So I did the next best thing: I zotted the offenders from MY Friends list. If they want back on they need to get right with reality. (I am sure they will take it personally once they discover what happened. Hehehehe...;-))

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you and I hope you have all the diet cokes you can drink today. I gave up caffeine and still long for my diet coke and diet Dr. Pepper. I am so sleepy lately, waiting for my adreniline to kick in.

It is easier to shed 20 years than to shed 20 pounds. Finding an appropriate, yet feminine, dress for anyone over 50 is very difficult. If you can make your own, that is fantastic!

Can you make one for me, too?

Yep, what you said, on every point.

I think the larger issue here is that these people on the social networks feel completely comfortable spouting this crap because they hear Katie Couric and the rest of the rabble doing it as news reports.

It seems like they believe conservatism and patriotism is a sickness, even though their brand of politics is down to less than 20% of the population (and falling fast if the polls are any indication of how badly the Dem party is leaking voters).

Oh well, not to worry. I have been waiting for a long time to zap quite a few of them; I can almost feel the irritation easing.

(Next, to zap all those sanctimonious 'post this on your wall if you don't want to be thought of as a pariah' posters and the 'my cause is holier than yours' passion fascists. HA!...;-))
