They probably changed more than "added sea salt".

Read the history of Campbell's....It's pretty interesting. Talked to a couple of "old time" farmers recently (They're in their 80's). They had huge "egg farms". They sold their old hens to Campbell's for 10 cents each.

That sounds like it was an interesting conversation. I keep urging people, family mostly, to tape record some of the oldtimers stories or they’ll be lost. They never do it.

Old hens make the best soup and trying to find a stewing hen in your local mega-mart any more is close to impossible.

Thankfully I have friends who raise chickens. They sell me fresh eggs, young fryers, older broilers and stewing hens.

Chickens are nasty vile birds, but they taste good!
