My husband bought me some of my favorite soup, Campbell's Cream of Potato. My mouth got all ready and I sipped the first spoon. I spit it back in the bowl. It tasted TERRIBLE! I thought it was spoiled. Nope. Now! With Sea Salt Added! If I wanted sea salt I'd go float in the ocean!
I just discovered that they've done the same to Vegetarian Vegetable. No more Campbell's soup for me. And I wrote them to tell them where they can stick their sea salt! I don't buy Healthy Choice soups because they taste awful. So they are now going to force their idea of healthy on consumers? The left is taking over everything and forcing their ideas on us. I'm really angry. They stick their nose in every aspect of our lives.
I guess I'll just have to make my own.

Vegetarian Vegetable? I had to dump Old Bay Seasoning and Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning in it to make it palatable.
Don’t get me started on Nabisco. They discontinued the following delicacies: Crown Pilot Crackers, Royal Lunch Milk Crackers, Ideal Peanut Bars, Mystic Mint Sandwich Cookies, and (as I remember) Heydays. Tragic.

Yes, a more “balanced” salt, a more “nuanced” salt, more akin to the chemical make-up in your own blood system, as it were. Mmmm-Mmmm good. Yes.
Serious gourmands pay outrageous money for obscure sea salts. One Japanese company pumps up water from deep in the ocean (cause salt from down there tastes better) and spends a year processing it just so.

Cut to the chase. there isn’t any health benefit from Sea vs mined salt. It’s marketing and cost. Wendy’s went to Sea Salt and have rec’d a gazillion complaints, so far.

Sea salt and table salt have the same basic nutritional value both mostly consist of two minerals sodium and chloride. However, sea salt is often marketed as a more natural and healthy alternative. The real differences between sea salt and table salt are in their taste, texture and processing, not their chemical makeup.
Sea salt is produced through evaporation of seawater, usually with little processing, which leaves behind some trace minerals and elements depending on its water source. These insignificant amounts of minerals add flavor and color to sea salt, which also comes in a variety of coarseness levels.
Table salt is mined from underground salt deposits. Table salt is more heavily processed to eliminate trace minerals and usually contains an additive to prevent clumping. Most table salt also has added iodine, an essential nutrient that appears naturally in minute amounts in sea salt.
By weight, sea salt and table salt contain about the same amount of sodium chloride. Your body needs only a couple hundred milligrams (mg) a day to stay healthy, but most people get far too much mostly from sodium in processed foods. So regardless of which type of salt you prefer, keep sodium consumption between 1,500 and 2,300 mg of sodium a day if you’re a healthy adult. People with high blood pressure, African-Americans and anyone middle-aged or older should aim for the low end of that range.

Read the history of Campbell's....It's pretty interesting. Talked to a couple of "old time" farmers recently (They're in their 80's). They had huge "egg farms". They sold their old hens to Campbell's for 10 cents each.
Our local county commission is on the salt bandwagon too. Took a chunk of grant money to study salt use. They are targeting the folks who use meals on wheels. Going to lower the salt content. What those stupid jerks don’t get is that people still have salt shakers and they know how to use them!

I’m still pretty burned up they stopped making “Screaming Yellow Zonkers” a couple of years ago.
It totally changes the taste. Why not offer both soups? Nope. They have to control being lefties.
Maybe it was Dead Sea sea salt. Next time, ask for Atlantic Ocean sea salt.
