Campbell's Soup Rant (angry vanity)
Me | Jan1, 2011 | DJMacWoW

Posted on 01/01/2011 10:36:34 AM PST by DJ MacWoW

My husband bought me some of my favorite soup, Campbell's Cream of Potato. My mouth got all ready and I sipped the first spoon. I spit it back in the bowl. It tasted TERRIBLE! I thought it was spoiled. Nope. Now! With Sea Salt Added! If I wanted sea salt I'd go float in the ocean!

I just discovered that they've done the same to Vegetarian Vegetable. No more Campbell's soup for me. And I wrote them to tell them where they can stick their sea salt! I don't buy Healthy Choice soups because they taste awful. So they are now going to force their idea of healthy on consumers? The left is taking over everything and forcing their ideas on us. I'm really angry. They stick their nose in every aspect of our lives.

I guess I'll just have to make my own.

Larousse Gastronomique starts with “first, take a pig” ~ that’s how you start pie.

Chickens are so stupid, I doubt if they notice when you kill them. It’s almost like you’re doing them a favor.

Any Wegman’s? Absolutely the best grocery store I have had occasion to visit! I will admit Publix is second, though!

Chickens are nasty vile birds, but they taste good!

Old varieties aren't. Look up Dominiques and Javas. They're known as "heritage" birds.

LOL

No sympathy here for anyone who actually eats canned soups.

You can make your own nutritious/delicious soups in almost the time it takes to open, pour and heat a can of that worthless garbage.

I make my broths in large batches ahead of time. To get the nutrition, you need the bones to.

If I'm out of homemade broth, I use Better Than Bullion paste - organic, with little salt.

These pastes have been used by top chefs for decades but became available to the public a while ago.

Takes no time at all to make chowder too: corn, potato. And oyster stew - num.
I grate my potato into the hot broth. That way, it's cooked almost as soon as it hits the hot broth - and quickly adds thickness.

Ugh. I shudder at the thought of even one spoonful of canned soup.

Nope. Never heard of them. Mostly Shoprites and A&P’s.

>>>> "Fortunately they didn't contaminate the frying oil. Instead they contaminated the ketchup.

It's still the ONLY place in America where they generally make an effort to assure the french fries are gluten free. Do not trust any of the others. <<<<

I'll never enter a McDonalds EVER again, I'll certainly never knowingly eat ANYTHING whatsoever from them.

I mean... all over the place online there's chatter that the french fries are GLUTEN FREEEE!!!!!!

And that disgusting fast food joint doesn't have the courtesy to inform the public that the KETCHUP which is FOR the french fries is gluten-poisoned??

No, I deeply appreciate your explaining to me about the condiments, but I don't trust McDonalds for ANYTHING, and I am not happy that I got sick from the disgusting contemptuous way they took advantage of me and made me ILL.

Heinz Ketchup is frequently said to be the only gluten-free catsup in America -- but I had NO idea that McDonald's contaminates theirs.

What's the point of french fries being GLUTEN FREE, and then not giving a _____ that celiacs dip them in gluten-rich ketchup????

For some of us trying to get our brains around a trillion dollars, much less 14 trillion, is a mind-boggling challenge, but, now soup, yes we can get into that...especially since chicken soup is so beneficial when one is sick and I don’t think the medicos have figured out just how that works...LOL!

Heinz Ketchup may be gluten free but McDonald's ketchup made by Heinz has that artificial beef flavor additive in it ~ according to McDonald's own detailed ingredients list.

You do realize that below a certain level flavor enhancers and spices don't have to be specifically identified.

Of course you and I know that FDA tests aren't as discriminating as our intestinal tracts!

You “live out in the middle of nowhere” and your happiness is contingent upon a CAN of potato soup?"

I live out in the middle of nowhere and feel as blessed as humanly possible.

EFF THE SOUP!

Me too - live in the williwacks - and Thank You, God.

Make my own soups, stews and chowders. I wouldn't give a can of soup cupboard room.

Put in your zip code and it will find any stores in your area that carry it. :~)

You betcha’ but it looks like $2/ pound to me. Gonna order the 4lb one and freeze some. I am so thrilled I found it. I did not see the thread about the lard a couple of weeks ago.

My new container of Crisco is going back to the store. Unopened. :)
