The average age of the World's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. America is now 235 years old. (Depending on the outlook.)

Most experts agree that we are somewhere between the 7th and 8th stage. Of course, this stage accelerates the process. Most Americans are too far gone to even understand what this means, nor do they care.

The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been two hundred years.
These nations have progressed through this sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
3. from courage to liberty;
4. from liberty to abundance;
5. from abundance to selfishness;
6. from selfishness to complacency;
7. from complaceny to apathy;
8. from apathy to dependence;
9. from dependency back again into bondage.”
Sir Alex Fraser Tyler: (1742-1813) Scottish jurist and historian

"One of the traditional methods of imposing statism
or socialism on people has been by way of medicine..."

President Ronald Reagan

Death Panels imposed by Mitt Romney (ObamaCARE=RomneyCARE).

The simple fact that Ed Schultz gets paid for what he does tells me that we are doomed.

I’m optimistic that we will not go down like those other civilizations. Instead it will go down in the next few years when the electrical grid goes down permanently (EMP, super solar flare like in 1921, computer virus like Israel used on Iran’s nuclear plants, read “How Long Can You Tread Water”.

All modern civilizations are totally dependent on electricity. A sudden loss of electricity for a week and the country would be in anarchy.

Oh, and happy new year.

A solar flare would destroy the ignition module of the generator unless you had stored the unit in a Faraday cage.My older John Deere diesel tractors will start and run since they are a completely mechanical injector system.How long before we run out of fuel?

Every time I see that photo with those swarmy f’ers,I get sick to my stomach.The only redeeming thing is the fact that the swimmer is currently roasting.

Propane can be stored for longer periods. (you can get a gas to propane converter and use both)

The “Alex Fraser Tyler” quote is great, but bogus in origin.

Don’t feel badly. I reposted a bogus Cicero quote on treason for a long time until I discovered it was made up.

Irony in and of itself for certain!

This, coming from Ed Schultz. All though, looking at his site, one concludes his other Marxist tripe takes priority over logic.

From Schultz's perspective, he sees apathy and complacency, as well as tyranny/Bondage as Conservatism. No doubt!

Thanks, same to you.

One would also think that this cycle also completes itself within a civilization that retains it’s basic nationality or title. Great Britain is one of those, as well as the Roman Empire.

Cut electricity and country boys like me will survive and take over! (You know how the song goes.)

Isn’t Ed Schultz a left wingnut?

If so, and he buys this progression, isn’t he admitting that the liberal progressive philosophy is a death knell to freedom and the democratic republic?

Will my 1949 8-9 tractor continue to run? I don’t know much about this stuff. My tractor runs on regular gas.

Why fear collapse???

Only the big guy up stairs knows when the Sh!t Will Hit The Fan.

If you have led a decent enough life, when it does happen, you’re one step closer to heaven.

I’m not some bible thumper but I know this to be true...

What could be a more glaring example of complacency than this: “We must pass this bill so you can find out what’s in it.” And there was no public outcry!

“All modern civilizations are totally dependent on electricity. A sudden loss of electricity for a week and the country would be in anarchy.”

Which explains why the libs were considering having Google maintain the grid.

I know that to be true also. However I have children to consider. I am profoundly concerned about the world in which they will have to live. I fear for them.

"Isn’t Ed Schultz a left wingnut?"

Special Ed is a convert who shot his own dog.
