Will my 1949 8-9 tractor continue to run? I don’t know much about this stuff. My tractor runs on regular gas.
That is 8-N tractor, not 8-9.
It should be fine.Gas engines with the older style ignition sustem(points, coil)should survive. Most solid state ignition systems will be ruined. That means all new cars won’t start. Most heavy trucks on the road have electronic control modules driving their fuel injection systems. So no food delivery,no fuel delivery. Most modern farm equipment will be rendered useless.I have some older tractors that will continue to function, but how much fuel, seed and fertilizer will I be able to find? And for how long?It will become a race to repair oil refineries, power stations, trucks, just about everything we need to sustain life.
