83 Eldorado Biarritz or 66 Pontiac Catalina convertible. Man’s most beautiful creations, next to the Tiger Tank and the Thompson Sub-gun.
I only buy Ford products, well built, less government input.
CUV?
Toyota’s been the best/most reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned.
Maybe something other than a blonde this time :)
Leased my wife a Ford Edge. Got all the bells and whistles for a fraction of the cost of a lot of compas. They make a crossover but she didn’t like it. This thig is really nice, big, not too big. Terrible on gas, great for around town. Get the 6 cyl. Real nice car. My old man always said buy land lease cars. I lease them for the wife and buy them for me, because I keep the ones I like a good long time.
I’d look for one in her early thirties, never married, no kids, decent career, that can drive better than your prevoius model.
My car was hit just before Christmas and I have a Ford Escape as a rental. Don’t like it much, front seat area is cramped. It gets ok mileage but I like my RAV4 much better.
Here are two that I recommend:
Considering many models...Hmmm, didn’t work out for Billy Joel.
Honda CRV. Hondas really hold their value. But test drive the new Equinox. Was this a snow accident? Does she need 4WD?
Whatever you get, don’t let her drive it!!!!
On the bright side, since she wrecked it, that gives you leverage in getting the car of your choice! :p
If you are buying used, look at the Saturn VUE. Out of production but the safety design is spectacular.
My daughter got hit on the drivers side post, flipped 3X and survived. The responding LEO nominated her for an award because he thought she’s be dead when he arrived.
Seat-belt plug, too.
I’d probably look into blondes or redheads.
It all depends upon the model of wife you wish to replace.
Don’t know where you live, but we just purchased a Subaru Outback this past summer. Love, love, love it! With our big snowstorm we just had, it handled perfectly in the snow. It looks like a cross between a CUV and a station wagon. Check out their website.
We’ll never buy a new car again - just doesn’t make sense
Last new car we bought was a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder and it was fantastic. It died of a broken timing chain this summer at 278k miles, and we replaced it with a 2004 (last year of that generation). Highly recommended
I have a 2005 Tuscon with 75K miles and have had no problems with it whatsoever.
Hope your wife is OK. If she “totaled” the car, then move up to an SUV for more protection. My car in BC is the Nissan Xterra and in 2008, I slid into a deep snow ridge during a snowstorm. Got out of 2 ft of snow with it.
Let me second the Subaru recommendation. Does it really have to be an SUV, or is it that you just want AWD/4WD? Because all Subaru models have AWD. I drive an Impreza WRX, and it’s the best car I love it. Had a Honda Civic, Ford Escort, and Ford Mustang before it, none of them came close to the awesomeness that is my Subaru.
If it has to be an SUV, look at the Forester (which you can get with a turbo) and the Tribeca. Subaru makes cars that are great at handling.
