Hope your wife is OK. If she “totaled” the car, then move up to an SUV for more protection. My car in BC is the Nissan Xterra and in 2008, I slid into a deep snow ridge during a snowstorm. Got out of 2 ft of snow with it.
I like the Ford Escape (2001-2007). The Xterra would be my close second to that.
