Wikileaks continues to rock the political world by shedding light on conspiracies, corruption and cover-ups. The latest batch of diplomatic cables released by Wikileaks reveals what can only be characterized as a U.S.-led conspiracy to force GMOs onto European countries by making those countries pay a steep price if they resist.
The cable reveals the words of Craig Stapleton, the US ambassador to France, who was pushing the commercial interests of the biotech industry by attempting to force GMOs into France. In his own words (below), he expresses his frustration with the idea that France might pass environmental laws that would hamper the expansion of GMOs:
“Europe is moving backwards not forwards on this issue with France playing a leading role, along with Austria, Italy and even the [European] Commission… Moving to retaliation will make clear that the current path has real costs to EU interests and could help strengthen European pro-biotech voice.”
Got that so far? His own words: “Retaliation” as a way to “make [it] clear” that resisting GMOs will have a price.
Stapleton goes on to say something rather incredible:
“Country team Paris recommends that we calibrate a target retaliation list that causes some pain across the EU since this is a collective responsibility, but that also focuses in part on the worst culprits. The list should be measured rather than vicious and must be sustainable over the long term, since we should not expect an early victory…”
As you read these words again, remember that these are the words of the U.S. ambassador to France who is suggesting the US “calibrate a target retaliation list” in order to “cause some pain across the EU” that must be “sustainable over the long term.”

Here are a examples of Monsanto suing farmers for planting cross contaminated seed. They actually sue farmers who plant heirloom or organic plants that have been unknowingly contaminated by GMO pollen. When the farmer save their seed and plant them the next year, Monsanto sues them for "patent infringement".

Monsanto has said they will pay the defense fees of the farmer that contaminated Marsh's farm if Marsh decides to sue them for contaminating his organic field w/ their GMO.
Since the US Supreme Court ruled in Monsanto’s favor when it came to GMO seed patents and all the supporting court cases against farmers’ crops, there should be no surprise with the direction we are headed on a worldwide basis concerning food sources.
Monsanto has it down to one seed produces one plant and unable to reproduce again...the offspring seeds are sterile.
Glad to see this post is still alive. Again, try watching the documentary ‘Future of Food (2004)’ for a basic understanding of GMO, scientific, political and otherwise.

So backing an American business interest instead of some other country's industry is not in our Interest - smakes of the same type thinking that allows the Dem's to pass of their socialism for economic planning.
Just because Monstanto is an Amercian business doesn't mean I am going to be their cheerleader. If they are making a bad product and using nefarious strong arm tactics against innocent farmers, producers and customers to force a monopoly on our food and seed supply, I want to be their worst nightmare.
As for trees with grafted branches, or hogs that are breed with one sal know for quick growing and a bore that produces less fat in off spring. All these GMFs have one thing in common, finding the fittest and best qualities in each and then trying to improve with a better offspring.
Maybe the GMFs that people are afraid are the ones that have tiny drops of liquids or cells grafted into the hosts?
Again, the US Manufacturers have been investing for over 25-years and the rest of the world for about 10-12 years - it is a business and each country tries to protect their own industry.
As for labeling GMFs, is there anything in the world that doesn't qualify - carrots, potatoes, corn, beans, Rice especially, animals and the milks and cheeses - they are all byproducts of selective breeding.
Again to sum it all up, farming is a science. Whether rotating crops, selection of a grain or feed for animals, plant food, weeding, tilling, watering, and especially knowing how to manage the books of the business are all part of the modificaiton of foods.
To equate GMO with selective breeding of prized cattle or pigs is lazy logic and argmentation. There are several studies out there that show that GMO potatoes and other foods are not as safe as they want us to believe and consumers should have the right to know what is in their food rather than have it purposefully hidden from them in the name of insane proftis for the Soros-invested Monsanto.
And amusingly enough, George Soros and the Heinz Foundation is behind the company that spreads all this crap about GMO crops to scare people. Here's one of the folks behind some of the anti-GMO "studies":
