Yesterday we had a thread about favorite Christmas albums, so today I thought I would post one to ask everybody: What are the WORST Christmas songs ever recorded?
Gayest Christmas song ever, George might as well have come out of the closet right there.
Bruce Springteen: Santa Claus is Coming to Town
John Denver: Please Daddy, dont get Drunk this Christmas!
Eartha Kitt: Santa Baby
As far as those complaining about the Christmas Shoes song, well maybe if you’ve ever realy been there you would understand, but I doubt hearts so harden would ever understand.
Dominick the Italian Christmas Donkey
“Christmas With the Devil” by Spinal Tap.
“Christmas Shoes...”
I CANNOT STAND THAT SONG!
I make up rude lyrics to sing when it is on and my wife almost wants to kill me! :^D
Also cannot stand:
Anything made after 1950, as they are mostly novelty songs. Ok, “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer” is an exception because mom mom loved it so much.
How about “Christmas At Ground Zero” by Weird Al Yankovic?
Since I am an old head nuclear guy I love, and laugh, at that song but most think it is over the top.
John and Yoko’s “Happy Xmas (War is Over)” - both their version and the cover by Jimmy Buffett (on his “Christmas Island” album - what can I say - it was a gift.)
LOL. You’re just upset I beat you to it....:-)......enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xam01uaj6Vg
Feliz Navidad, Grandma Got Run Over By A Raindeer, and Holly Jolly Christmas are three stomach-turners. On the other side, great unknown Christmas songs, I’d mention Tennessee Ernie Ford’s Some Children See Him.
ARRRrrrrghh!
It's not that bad of a song, but it is sappy and was WAY overplayed (and then had a sappy movie made based on the song). Sort of like "Butterfly Kisses". Great song with lots of crossover appeal that was extremely popular, and anyone with a daughter could certainly appreciate the song. BUT it got so overexposed and overplayed that a lot of people get sick just hearing it now.
Your Man Card is hereby revoked.
I don't know, it might have been Hallmark Channel. Anyway it was one of the cable PMS channels.
Al Gore vocalizes whale songs "I'll have a Blue Christmas with Melting Icebergs: a Whale's Lament."
Hear our beloved former presidential candidate astonishingly realistic whale song imitations as he blends multiple tracks in a rising crescendo of heart rending cries. You will be brought to tears as you hear the agony of our sea dwelling friends realize the destruction of their fragile ecosystem.
Gotta admit, I’d rather listen to those dogs than Lennon or McCartney or Wham.
Hearts so hardened? The writer of that dreck sets out to write a tear jerker song. What he got was a successful little number about some kid wanting to shove a brand new pair of pumps on mom's feet as though his mother was going on a date with Jesus.
Some people are not easily manipulated simply because some song writer wants us to cry. Now you said, "maybe if youve ever realy been there you would understand". Have you "been there"? Have you wanted to slide a new pair of high heels on your mom's feet while she was dying so she would impress Jesus? If not YOU have not been there either. Now I'm sorry if you lost your mom to a terminal disease or something like that. Lots of people have, but that doesn't make it any easier. But to say I have a "hardened heart" because I think Christmas Shoes is a terrible song says far more about your issues than it does about me.
Yeah, that one is definitely number one on my list of worst ever. But it is followed closely by Lennon and Wham.

DOH!!!
But that’s not even his best Christmas song, a title that I believe would go to “The Night Santa Went Crazy”.
“And the elves all got jobs working for the postal service”!!!
Laughing at the barking dogs can be fun (well.....maybe until the second verse); listening to Lennon or Wham try to sing a Christmas song can require a barf bag..........
