It is been forcast that there will be a couple of inches of snow on the ground before the game starts and it's supposed to snow until well after midnite.

There will be injuries....

I know a thing or two about sports turf as you might infer. I am at a loss as to why this would be a concern. Aren’t artificial turf fields built on a surface of concrete or asphalt? Sure, there’s a layer of rubber crumbs but its certainly not like landing on the soft air filled surface of a Moon Bounce.

It’s winter. It’s Minneapolis. It’s cold. The field is frozen. It’s football. It’s not like you have a real job - you’ll only be there for three hours and will be paid more than an average workingman’s annual salary for the day of cold and snow.

They have 24 hours. Why not try to do some heavy thawing. Blow torches, maybe? Zygi can afford it.

Actually, the latest forecast is for 8 inches of snow, so it seems to me that would pretty much cushion anyone’s fall to the ground. Even the pansy-assed punter’s.

As an addendum to my prior post, if they want to play indoors then Parchesi is the game for them...........

If global warming™ hasn't warmed the field by now, another 24 hours isn't going to do much.

The old Metropolitan Stadium where the Vikings started was hard as a rock way back then, as was Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Today players need indoor stadiums with cushy fields.

We used to play as kids in the backyard with snow on the ground. Heck my 7 year old sister got into the act although we tackled her very gingerly. Snow is like a cushion plus you slide on it too. A lot of fun so the Big Boys need to just go out have fun and play in it. Sheeeesh!

Holy crap, there’s 328 comments on the story at the Strib’s website. I’m guessing most are ridiculing Kluwe.

KLuwe is an embarassment to Minnesotans.

You can bet the Purple People Eaters and Bud Grant are laughing at him.
