Homeowner solves his holiday light mystery
A homeowner near Denver finally caught the grinch who has been damaging his light display for years. But the culprit ended up being a lot cuter than he expected.
Barry Miller says for the past four or five years now his driveway lights had been cut in the same exact place. He thought maybe a neighbor had been pulling a prank on him. So he decided to hook up a surveillance camera and a motion detector to catch whoever was doing it.
"I was so excited, cause they were cut in broad daylight. Then we looked at the tape, I was so disappointed, I actually thought we were gonna catch a person and go through with my plan," said Miller.
It turns out the culprit was a little rabbit. The critter had been taking a little bite and running off.
Miller says he's going to try to find a homemade rabbit repellent, like pepper, to keep his decorations in tact.
Look on the box....The rabbit will probably die of lead poisoning...It’s in the wires...
Any landscape supply place will have something that will deter the little critter. Otherwise, he cold get Elmer Fudd to handle it for him.
It’s amazing that they were chewed in the exact same places.

Few years ago I had a Santa display, reindeer(s), sleigh and all, knocked of the roof of the porch. Put them back up and the next day I came home from work and down they were. About the third time I crawled up the ladder, the neighbor from across the street, (home all day), said “Why don’t you let them squirrels have their playground on the ground? Save you a lot of time. “
have done that myself, but usually after a couple of bourbons...
If the lights were on wouldn’t he have fried rabbit when the wires were chewed?...new way of hunting...
Voila....15 minutes of fame!!!
My bunny aka Thumper was really smart...You could call her like a dog...so we let her out every day.
Then we found out she was going a couple houses down the street where they had a caged rabbit and bags of rabbit food readily available on the outside of the cage. Thumper was a thief!!!
Took him 4 or 5 years to come up with a plan?? Not the brightest lightbulb...

If one were to put it on a separate circuit that didn't cause the house lights to flicker.... I suppose one could get away with it..... Theory, only, mind you.
