and back home 0 seems determined to get the START treaty thru the lameduck session of Congress.

The ultimate idiocy is the full-body screening of the pilot. The pilot doesn't need a bomb or box cutter to bring down a plane. All he has to do is drive it into the water, like the EgyptAir pilot who crashed his plane off Nantucket while intoning "I rely on God," killing all on board.;-))
But we must not bring that up. We pretend that we go through this nonsense as a small price paid to ensure the safety of air travel. Rubbish. This has nothing to do with safety - 95 percent of these inspections, searches, shoe removals and pat-downs are ridiculously unnecessary. The only reason we continue to do this is that people are too cowed to even question the absurd taboo against profiling - when the profile of the airline attacker is narrow, concrete, uniquely definable and universally known. So instead of seeking out terrorists, we seek out tubes of gel in stroller pouches.
Redleg, when they continued that some time ago, I asked that it be stopped too. I wasn’t zapped and they did take it down. I get it too and needn’t see it at every turn on FR.

God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael, the archangel, found him,
resting on the seventh day. He inquired, “Where have you been?”
God smiled deeply and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, “Look,
Michael. Look what I’ve made.”
Archangel Michael looked puzzled, and said, “What is it?”
“It’s a planet,” replied God, and I’ve put life on it. I’m going to call it
Earth and it’s going to be a place to test Balance.”
“Balance?” inquired Michael, “I’m still confused.”
God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth. “For example, “This place
will be extremely hot, while this one will be very cold and covered in ice.”
“This place will be full of mountains and hills, while this one will be very
flat.”
The Archangel , impressed by God’s work, then pointed to one land area and said,
“What’s that one?”
“That’s Wisconsin , the most glorious place on earth. There are beautiful rivers
and streams, lakes, forests, and hills. The people from Wisconsin are going to
be handsome, modest, intelligent, and humorous, and they are going to travel the
world. They will be extremely sociable, hardworking, high achieving, carriers of
peace, and producers of good things. Champions shall come from here!”
Michael gasped in wonder and admiration, but then asked, “But what about
balance, God? You said there would be balance.”
God smiled, “I will create Minnesota , wait till you see the clowns I put there.
For entertainment, they will have a football team with a quarterback so old
that hes a grandfather. They will wear purple and play in a domed stadium.”
Michael inquisitively asked, “Why a domed stadium?”
God chuckled and said, “You see Michael . . . even I don’t want to watch them
play football.”
And I think that is the message JimRob is trying to communicate to the elite. They just don't get it. We all know that some have registered here and do campaigning here because if FR gets behind a candidate, that is a BIG HUGE endorsement. We are the premier political site. ELITE, ARE YOU LISTENING? WE ONLY WANT CONSERVATIVES. PERIOD. NO NEGOTIATION. THAT'S IT.
As long as Gingrich, Rove and their ilk refer to our "temper tantrum", it is obvious they don't get it. Hence, we must keep trying to communicate the conservative message.
And I think that is the message JimRob is trying to communicate to the elite. They just don't get it. Yes, Cornyn is a huge disappointment...both in his position as head of the Senate Campaign committee, and in his comments where he seems to go out of his way to disparage the work of so many grass-rooters and the new breed of candidates they helped bring to the fore this year.
