'Tis Thanksgiving Week!

And given that, we'll be hearing lots more stories about the new TSA passenger searches and screenings.

Renewed bailout and financial worries grip Europe,

and back home 0 seems determined to get the START treaty thru the lameduck session of Congress.

If it was about the Mississippi State recruiting scandal, I really don’t know what is going on. I’ve heard many rumors but when it is traced back to the sources, it seems to point to John (I may have the first name wrong) Bond and Kenny Rogers. They’ve changed their stories at least twice. I’ve heard that Cecil Newton admitted to someone who relayed the “confession” to a TV station that he solicited funds from Miss State. That someone is (yet) another anonymous source. I haven’t heard anything concrete, only rumors.

Until there is something concrete that Auburn passed money over to Cam, I will support both the program and the player. It’s family and it’s personal.

When you mess with the Cam, you mess with the Fam.

And you as well. Thank you. The day itself will be spent with older relatives. Friday will be a gathering of my generation and younger. We’ll graze through the weekend.

What are you and the First Lady doing?

We are going over to the neighbors for Thanksgiving. I have mentioned them before on this thread. They are good friends, and somewhat liberal. We have known them now for 5+ years. Put it this way, if a push came to a shove, I wouldn't have to shoot them.

Jonna and I have now been unemployed for 10 months. It is rough. We only had 4 months of reserve, and that was my fault. If our business takes off (and it might), I will insure everything, from the house, and car are paid for. No more consumer credit debt, no matter how small or insignificant.

Sorry for the long post, especially on the thread, as opposed to FReep mail, but it makes me feel better, believe it or not. Happy Thanksgiving. We, are very blessed.

that wasn’t a long post. I’ve been longer and recently longer, at that. Prayers for you and Jonna. Something has to break soon. The economy can’t stay this bad for much longer. People will work their way out and you and Jonna are part of that.

I’m glad you don’t have to shoot your friends. That would mess up the relationships. ;) It is also wonderful that y’all can set aside your differences and maintain that friendship. Mike and I do that frequently with relatives but more often with fellow church members who support “that other institution.” If they mouth off at me this weekend, I, too, may have to shoot them. LOL!

I’m probably hitting the sack soon. I’m walking around like a zombie now.

Wishing everyone a great Thanksgiving with family and/or friends.

Here in SE Iowa it is drizzling rain,, which is preferable to the ice in they had earlier in the day to the North of us. There were tons of fender benders, and several fatalities. Thinking of those who must deal with these issues this weekend.

Have you seen this? Al Harris took out a half-page ad in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to thank the fans after the Packers released him last week.

Very classy. Mr. Favre could learn a thing or two from Mr. Harris.

I hope you all have a nice day with your family and friends. I had a few invites & decided on this for my day. Will volunteer at homeless shelter in morning. Dinner at church.. home for a bit & take dogs out for romp at end of street(depending on weather - forecast is for heavy rain). Take meal over to my friend Paul. He is supposed to now be in Hilton Head visiting with his sister for 3 weeks but as I mentioned prior, fell last week & injured his leg & so NO trip as he cannot drive for long spells. We might get in a movie over near his place if he is up to wobbling around a bit.

a lot of rain w/flood warnings in forecast here with temps of 50. This will be a good test of roof w/o gutters.Gutters to be installed on Saturday!

We all have pain & issues. But we all have blessings & joy to be celebrated. I pray you & your will find this the prevailing mood in your day today

Good Morning, Everybody!
Happy Thanksgiving!

We Gather Together

We gather together to ask the Lord's blessing;
He chastens and hastens His will to make known;
The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing,
Sing praises to His name: He forgets not his own.

Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining,
Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine
So from the beginning the fight we were winning;
Thou, Lord, wast at our side, All glory be thine!

We all do extol thee, thou leader triumphant,
And pray that thou still our defender wilt be.
Let thy congregation escape tribulation;
Thy name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!
