Oh yeah? And who would she have been talking to without network coverage? This story is not only BS, its not even remotely plausible BS...

Everybody knows she was talking to the Enterprise when Captain Kirk went back in time.

To me it looks like she’s either adjusting her glasses or holding onto her hat.

Again, I didn’t say I believe this.
I posted it because the best place to find an explanation is on FR.
The smartest people in America are here.
So, WHAT is it?
NOT, “it can’t be true, because of blah blah blah ....”
Tell me what it is.
It’s not a big deal, I would like to know what going on there.

It was an intertemporaldimensional cell phone.
To: fishtank
Some sort of hearing aid or music box.

Indeed curious!
But the bigger question..
WHO in 1928 do you talk to on a cell phone?
I’ve got Verizon, and inter-temporal service isn’t an option.

It's not a woman.
It's me.
I was in disguise.
It's not a cellphone, either.
It's a communicator. I was talking to Mr. Spock.
There ... mystery solved!
Glad I could help.

We assume she is talking on a cell phone because that is just a normal sight in our world, but if you didn't know about cell phones, this image could be of anything.
For example, she could be holding up a change purse and shaking it. She could be holding a folded scarf in her hands to wipe a raindrop off her ear. She could be listening to the hum of Dilithium crystals.
