Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was a binge drinker who had a pornography habit or fetish in the 1980s, then changed radically when he stopped drinking alcohol, his former girlfriend told CNN on Monday. Lillian McEwen, who dated Thomas for several years before he was nominated to the Supreme Court in 1991, provided CNN's "Larry King Live" program with a harsh depiction of Thomas. She said when they first met, he might have been a "raving alcoholic" who used pornography to help fulfill sexual fantasies, but then gave up drinking and transformed into an angry, obsessive man who bullied his son. King said during the program that Thomas' office declined offers to comment on the topics of the interview.

Why is valuable Free Republic space being given to this despicable woman? Nothing she alleges can be proven. The left has never gotten over Thomas’s conservatism. And let’s not forget he’s married to a white woman. This does not endear him to the Black Community. This is just another sick attempt to discredit the man.
Many of us predicted that the left would do something—anything—to regain control of the Supreme Court. Perhaps the coming leftist demrat Congressional loses—and the potential for losing the presidency—have added imperative to that goal. If this woman’s allegations is all they have on Thomas it’s so thin it’s almost invisible. But, then, desperate people do desperate things.
I would prefer the alleged “former girlfriend” not be given a megaphone on Free Republic.

Well, Hells Bells, Clarence ought to be running for President like Clinton did! Democrats love sexual deviants! Of course, I don’t believe a word of the liars. Anita Hill lied her ass off trying to keep Clarence from becoming a justice and the liberal press supported her.

This is merely the same thing-—attack the CCONSERVATIVES on the Supreme Court, in hopes of ousting them and making room for progressives....

I agree. I think the commie left is trying to use Alinsky tactics to see if they can pick off one of the conservative justices so obunghole gets to appoint another marxist to the court. I thought I heard about some kind of investigation of Justice Roberts too. They’re going to attempt to tilt the court so commiecare can be ruled constitutional.
Because it is news. News that needs to be addressed by discussion and insight.

I’m not quite there..no way they could get Thomas off the Court..this will make him more determined than ever to stay until there is a conservative GOP president to appoint his successor. FWIW, here’s my take...if there’s going to be another SCOTUS appt before 2012..perhaps Ginsburg is ill and wants to step down, it’s gonna be Holder. He has a lot of negatives, and would drive conservatives nuts..so by vilifying Thomas, they can say that any opposition to Holder is an appt for revenge..

That’s right. And even if Thoma perjured himself, it was only about sex, so it doesn’t count. We have a precedent for that.
These people are playing for keeps, freepers. If you think electing a republican congress is going to stop this train, guess again.
They are as close as they've ever been. They have done it with largely zero opposition. And they don't consider some old white crackers with protest signs and a vote, opposition. For every one of us, they'll import three who can easily be swayed to counter us.
Amen. If I remember correctly she was the one who started the whole thing by quietly asking Anita Hill for an apology. Bad idea, bad timing.
