Discovery Health Channel Story:34 Year Old Man Eats Primarily Cheeseburgers All The Time.

Posted on 10/16/2010 11:35:03 PM PDT by TheTeaPartyChannel

Did any of you catch the episode? A 34 year old husband been eating cheeseburgers regularly since childhood? First of all,he looked about 60 years old. What makes this particular "Freaky Foods" episode so baffling was that the 260 Pound BurgerMan is Still Alive! If anyone ate fast food on a daily basis for even three months,it would likely kill them. The other story intermixed with Burgerman was about a 40 Something Lady who ate "Anything Sugar" hourly. Where was Michele Obama to the rescue? Isn't She Anti-Burger & Sweets?

A son with scurvy because he thought he could survive on chicken wings and beer got two moms thinking they should write a book.

A guide to adulthood. A how-to book with things as simple as how to boil water and how to wipe your bum, and trickier tasks like tying a Windsor knot and managing your finances.

The Romans had a saying about food preferences "te gustibus non disputandem"...In other words "in matters of good taste, there is no arguing". To each his own, I don't have to understand it or eat it. If it makes you happy, have fun.

The real reason people don’t eat their fruit and veggies is because by the time they get to the local supermarket they are old and tasteless. Plus the fruit is picked before it is ripe and would be tasteless even if fresh. Fast food still provides flavor. Flavor and texture - the two most important things when eating. Biting into a mushy apple or an unripe pear is just not appetizing.

I recently restarted low-carb.

I’m eating broccoli, spinach, carrots, cauliflower, tomatoes and lettuce every day. I’m also hitting the vitamins hard. Next week, I’ll add some berries and yogurt.

If I didn’t have a sinus infection, I’d be on top of the world right now! *grumble*snit!*

Paleo is my ultimate goal, but there’s no way I’m going to get there with two teenagers in the house.

I think that you’re dead right about the quality of grocery store fruits and veggies. When I was a kid, we always had a garden and I *loved* fresh carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. Us grandkids couldn’t get enough of the blackberry patch and were notorious green bean and pea thieves. (We were worse than the rabbits and deer.) I remember the flavor of apples bursting with that first bite.

But the crap I have to choose from at the store is hit and miss. Nowdays, apples are mealy and there’s just a suggestion of the flavor that I remember. Pears are either mushy or green and hard as a rock. The lettuce is bitter as hell. None of the fruits pack a punch. It’s just not the same as it was 30 years ago.

My poor kids have no idea what they’re missing. My son is a T1 diabetic and *hates* all veggies. I force him to eat his salads and he drowns it in dressing to make it possible.

My recent solution is to buy frozen and so far this is working. For the first time, my family is tucking it *all* in - no waste!

I like frozen vegetables, too. They say (who knows?) that they are picked and flash-frozen at the height of their ripeness.

Also, kids like to eat food that they’ve grown or hand-picked. I actually ate blueberries as a kid because we picked them in the wilds of Maine. Such fun! But I couldn’t be persuaded to eat them at home in the city. I also think children’s taste buds are not fully developed - fruit and veggies don’t have enough salt or sugar to really interest them. That interest comes at a later age. Just a quack theory on my part.

I think he hosts “The New Price Is Right”.

After Bob Barker dies, I hope Drew gives the kiss-off to that “spay and neuter your pets” BS that Barker required he say in order to get the job.

Yes, I saw the “Anti-New Joisy” episode of South Park on Wednesday,,and still wonder if they overdosed on the actual persona of Snookie. I don’t know any woman with the sex drive of a male baboon.

It feels silly to even call it a “diet” because it’s not a plan to lose weight, it’s a plan to live healthfully. And you can still have dark chocolate. And wine if you are into it. Just no grains.

I do a lot less bored snacking now. That’s for sure.

no doubt a cheeseburger will taste good
but one thing you don’t seem to understand is that the food groups
are pyramid-shaped. The cheeseburger may contain most of the
groups - but it is upside-down!
The dude is only 34.
good luck.
