Please say a prayer for my father, Harry. He had an MRI this morning and they discovered a brain tumor. My dad is 77 and takes care of my disabled mother full-time. That issue makes this doubly difficult. I live in another state and will be making my way there to help them tomorrow. Until then, I am asking for your prayers and suggestions for their ongoing care when I cannot be there. Does anyone have experience with the Visiting Angels care service? I'm a little bit numb from the news right now so please excuse my rambling.
Prayers up for your dad, for you and for the rest of your family.
I am praying for your family, your mom and dad.
I’m so sorry. You have my prayers.
Thank you. FR is kind of my lifeline today until I am able to leave tomorrow. I literally do not know what to do with myself. It’s surreal.
Prayers for healing, comfort and strength.
Prayers up for your father, your mom, you, and the rest of the family.
I wish I could offer advice, but since I can’t, your father, mother and you will be in my prayers daily. Please keep this list going so that others may be able to give you some advice.
Godspeed.
Father God,
We pray to you believing in Your awesome power to make miracles happen.
When we can’t see a way, You have already prepared a way.
When we look for Your hand, You have already empowered a hand on the arm of a friend, a neighbor or a caregiver in our midst.
We pray today for these elderly parents, that all their care needs be met, and that mplsconservative receive Your comfort, assurance, peace and clarity of decision-making.
Remove all obstacles, we pray, except those that are within Your plan for mpls, for Your reasons.
We ask for travel mercies for mpls and family, answers to all medical and financial questions, wisdom and godliness in all medical caregivers.
We pray for the resolution of any family issues and the assurance of salvation to be on the lips and in the minds and hearts of every family member.
In Jesus’s Holy Name,
Amen!
Of course, Prayers up.
Prayers for your Mom and Dad, and prayers for you too.
My mother in law just had brain surgery a month and a half ago. One hospital told her she has 2 months to live so we took her for a second opinion. She went for brain surgery and they removed a large cyst and one small tumor. A third tumor was inoperable and malignant. She has gone through radiation treatments and is now on heavy chemo. My wife left the house to go out of state a month ago to help her mother and father. She will be going back and forth from CA to NJ for a long time.
There is hope for her and I hope the same for your father. He will be in our prayers.

Thank you kitkat. Just posting this thread brings tears because it makes it REAL. The thought of everyone’s prayers is a comfort. My husband is here and has taken on staining the deck. He’s very supportive but needs something to do. I guess we all deal with things differently. I just feel paralyzed. I’m giving myself this day to pray and hang out here with my FReeper friends.
Very sorry to hear that. Prayers up for your parents and your family.
I suggested Visiting Angels to a friend of mine in Boston and she loved them. She let them go after a week, though, because she found a caregiver she knew who charged a lot less. Many prayers up for you, your family and especially your dad.
Many thoughts and prayers being sent your way. I have not had personal experience with Visiting Angels, but heard many good things from someone who did.
Prayers up for your father, you, and your family...
