I am trying to think of a good name for a dog, just acquired from the pound. He's been neutered, seems to be a bit less than one year old. He's part blue heeler and part black lab with ears that do not seem to be of either of those two breeds. He's joining the alpha male guard dog and the little mama dog who are both getting up there in years.
If anyone has any good suggestions for naming him, I'd appreciate it.
Two years ago, a tiny hound puppy, apparently barely weaned and with a dogbite wound (the vet said) came to our back door at our place in the Louisiana woods. He had to have a name for the vet visit, so I named him “DD” (Dumpster Dog, probably where he had been dumped). He grew up with all the configuration and coloring (and voice) of a Redbone Hound, and he is the sweetest and most loving dog we have ever had. Wouldn’t matter what he was named, though, because he doesn’t respond to it much anyway. I’ve heard that hounds typically don’t act grown up until 3 years old, so we will just wait and see how he turns out.
“Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf”
Its is topical, current, and speaks to one’s opinion of Atrocity Mosques. Furthermore, the subject dog may be able to say his own name: “Rouf!” “Rouf!”

p.s. Also, if you need to scold him, use all three names: “Feisal Abdul Rauf! WHAT have you been rolling in?”
Naming your dog Vanity? I like it.
Blue healer lab mix will possibly be a very smart dog. Name him Albert, Al for short.

I have one like that named BOB. When we go to the groomer they always laugh and love on him cause his name is normal and not some wierd name they say. He also has learned that if we whisper BEE OH BEEE that it also means Bob.
