Survivor: Nicaragua is the 21st season of Survivor. It will moving to Wednesday nights this season. In fact, it begins tonight, September 15, 2010, 8/7c.
The theme this season will be Young vs Old. The players will include a former NFL coach (Jimmy Johnson) and an amputee triathlete champion (Kelly Bruno).

Survivor host Jeff Probst, has also announced that the Hidden Immunity Idol will continue to be used in the game. However, as idols have been found too easily the past two seasons (most often by Russell Hantz), or as the show's producers have dubbed it, "The Russell Factor", the idol will be hidden differently. The clues to the idols' locations will be visual rather than written as in past seasons. In addition, the tribes will be vying for control of a new item, the Medallion of Power, that, when used, gives an advantage in a challenge, but is then transferred to the other tribe.

I watch Survivor for the unique personalities. My favorite players of all time were Russell, and Coby. Talk about 2 completely different people. I just love the show and the concept, and even in the worst of years, I don't think I have missed an episode. I hope it goes 21 more seasons.
My bad. When you said “Jimmy Johnson was the reason to watch!” I took it mean that’s why you were watching. Good to see otherwise.

I can see your point. But “celebrity” is out the door when your out there in your skivvies starving to death. The only negative I see is that he’s already a millionaire and could cause resentments. As was the case with Russell the last two seasons...

Apparently not, according to Jeff Probst: “I’m probably just star struck but I really enjoyed having him around.”
And not according to Marty: (To Dan) “Can you imagine what your friends in Manhattan are gonna say when you say you blindsided Jimmy Johnson.”
And certainly not to Dan who now has to deal with that thought bouncing around in his head for the rest of the show.
NO OTHER....I repeat; NO OTHER player in the history of Survivor brought with them into the game the trappings of “celebrity” thus totally changing the dynamics of the tribe chemistry and the personal interactions. Jeff and Marty and numerous others who made similar comments prove my point. JJ never should have been there in the first place. If Jeff wants to have a Survivor with nothing but “celebrities”, fine. Go for it. But I hope he NEVER brings another celeb into the mix of non-celebs again.
And I also totally agree with Jeff’s opinion of A-hola...though I don’t think he went far enough.
Is that why the idol is now a statue of Russell?
Celebrity or not, I really liked Jimmy J and am sad to see him go. At this point I want to see Jane or Fabio go the distance. My immediate boot wish list is Marty, Jimmy T and most especially A-Noya. I really, really hope she gets her butt kicked off this Wednesday. I can’t stand that woman.

Medallion of Power status: Retained by La Flor, who chose not to play it.
Immunity Idol status - Espada: Marty has the Idol. Jill was present when he found it. She gave him the final tip on how to find it.
Immunity Idol status - La Flor: Psycho Naonka flips out, body checks Kelly B, and grabs clue 2. Nobody on the tribe has found the idol yet.

Me too. Nasty heifer.. But, she will probably be immune.
Little bit of chatter here and there.
Most dealing with a shake up, merge and final three. At least with this season rumors are all over the place.
And the way things add up some of it must be wrong.
Not like the last two seasons where the correct boot list was out weeks before the first episode.
From Rob’s blog, “If the Survivor gods can grant me one wish this season, all I want is to see Jimmy T. and NaOnka end up on the same tribe at some point.” I have to admit, that would be a great tv moment though I don’t know if my tv will last that long before I throw a shoe at either of them.

I have a feeling A-Hola will be around for the next several episodes. Her mouth will get her booted about the final 6, however she’d be the one to take to the final 3.
I wish you were wrong but I fear you are right. She is the most detestable Survivor yet.
Speaking of “the final three”, there was an article about it on one of the links up the thread. FWIW, I’m against it. It’s silly to have three. Final two worked. If it ain’t broke...
Woohoo! Jimmy T. was booted. Notice he didn’t even bother to wish his tribe good luck. That dude is a bit on the creepy side. Is it just me but is this season’s contestants a bit of an odd ball group? There’s no one to root for but many to hope they get the boot soon. If it weren’t for the new challenges, it’d be unwatchable.

Jane (the fire starter) - Yes, FINALLY after all these years someone had the common sense to learn to build a fire!
Fabio (the airhead) - Please, no. For his sake, the poor kid needs to go before he ends up having some freakish accident.
Kelly B (just to spite NaOnka) - Love it! Anything to spite Ghetto.
The older tribe is letting Marty lead them in the wrong direction. First they vote out the guy that is a natural born leader and then they vote out the guy who is a fisherman by trade, Idiots!
I want it to be family vs family. Or better yet, FreeRepublic ( we choose who goes on ) vs DU ( they choose their best )...
