At his press conference, the first one in half a year among Barack Hussein Obama was seen not to be wearing his gold wedding band. Reason? Could it be that Muslims are not allowed to wear jewelry during Ramadan?
I looked at quite a lot of speculation on the Internet. As always, there is a lot of static mixed in with a little bit of commentary, from both sides. Isn't it extremely odd that he suddenly shows up not wearing a wedding ring? Doesn't he know that this will open him up to a lot of speculation? Demand has a tin ear, politically -- but we already all knew this didn't we?
So, fellow FReepers, what say you all?

When I hear the name “Sasha” I think of Sasha Vujacic, the basketball player from Slovenia for the Los Angeles Lakers. But then, I’m a Lakers fan.
Since Sasha Obama was born ten years after the fall of the Soviet Union, I don’t think there’s much to it.
And then there are black baseball players from the Caribbean, Vladimir Guerrero of the Texas Rangers and Alexei Ramirez of the Chicago White Sox.

I also thought that was very strange, to send one child in one direction, and take the other on a very special trip.

I need to issue a correction.
I hate to talk about the children of our president in tje belief that the children should be off-limits, but just as Bill Clinton constantly brought in Chelsea Clinton, Barack Hussein Obama has brought his daughters repeatedly into the public spotlight.
Here is my correction — the daughter is actually named Natasha, not Sasha... her true name is Natasha Obama.
There was a lot of previous discussion about the name Sasha but this is just the nickname that they are now adopting — you can choose for yourself whatever reason you might think this is.
But I still remember my amazement in 2008 to find an African-American politician’s daughter to be named Natasha...
If this guy had been born and raised in America he would know that Natasha is the name of the evil KGB spy in the old cartoon Rocky and his friends — but since he is not one of us and not born among us and not raised among us he did not know this.
I repeat my comment from above —
Maybe he was naming his daughter Natasha in honor of his KGB cut out, the KGB spy who monitors him and gives him instructions.
Just kidding.
Or maybe not...
Everyone here who thinks Obama chose the name “ Natasha” just because he liked it, please raise your hands.
