I saw it. I hate to admit this, but I do spend quite some time researching myself online.
Like I said in my previous post, I rarely give my correct info online and I only belong to a few sites.
We can never be 100% safe, even without the internet. I just choose not to be paranoid and try to be careful.

"Closed my account over a month ago. Major time waste with no return. Libs, lefties, Godless, soulless, and sad."I don't think that has anything to do with FB. You decide who to be friends with. If what you stated is true, then YOU are the one to blame, nobody else.
My sister and I have lost a few relative's because of FB. So be it. It was a constant battle, back and forth, the libs finally deleted us(we wouldn't give in).
Don't blame someone else for your own failure to utilize a great site. Like I said, I have met many great conservative peeps through FB.

Usually my friend requests, from people I don’t know, are friends with my conservative friends, whom I know personally.
Those I allow. Total strangers, no way!

Several of the requests showed no friends in common. Some of the ones with friends in common were people that I don’t know. I didn’t allow any of them.

Good for you for letting her know. I have never subscribed to Facebook or anything like that although there is someone else with my exact name that does. I do a search every now and then on my name and address (separately) to see if anything is published and force them to remove any listings.
However, my soon to be ex-husband's girlfriend has two facebook pages (???)with her photo, all of her family and friend's names, plus she has always had published address/phone numbers...I got her home number off of our cell phone bill and looked it up on Google and got her address...but is claiming she is going to sue me for cyberstalking for doing research on her on the internet, which I did so I could give her info to my attorney in the adultery case. I told her to go ahead and embarass herself, she can't sue me for looking up public information that she puts out on the internet.

I think it is like Email, don’t write or show anything you wouldn’t be happy with being exposed to all of the public.

Sure. Besides lack of time at the moment, this is one of many reasons I'm not on Facebook yet. I really want to learn all about specifically what you can show/hide from people, including certain "friends". I have a couple of relatives who will surely want to be "friends" with me, but I don't really want them to know what my political leanings are. Others, I don't mind.
If you refuse to accept someone as a "friend" I assume you are insulting this person?
I have a million questions about Facebook, but since you can't explore it w/o being an actual member, it makes it difficult...

The people who request, with friends in common, are requesting you because they know you know the same people they do.
Do you post any articles on FB?

Do you post any articles on FB? No. I just use it to avoid long distance phone calls. lol My friends use it to leave me news that I'll catch up to eventually. Like a friends daughter just had a baby boy. I saw the private pics when he was 1 day old.

I would close my FB account but I met these people from Nigeria whose family were killed in a government takeover, now they need help, especially with their family fortune, I gave them bank account info a few hours ago so they could deposit it there for the time being. I'm afraid if I delete my FB I'll lose touch with them, they are in great danger, what should I do ...
