Thank you, but I actually thought it was pretty bad writing. Too much went on to make it short. Condensed versions are not the best. It’s good to see you Dave. I pray that you are doing better and better each day. God strengthen you. Hugs.

Sorry I'm so late getting in. I was at Bible Study tonight (and it was a doozy).

Let me swill a cuppa joe and I'll get to fleshing.

Ha! I just went back and read the thread that Billie linked above. It was FR Finest tribute to Nattie Shea. So many things that I had forgotten. Some comments on there from Maggie that made me cry, and wishing that I had gotten to know you and your family a lot sooner. There is even a post on there from ofMagog who vanished without notice from our venture on the high seas. Most nostalgic.

Must be something in the air tonight. Our Tea Party meeting was jazzed tonight. They were wound up and ready to take on the whole government.

Looks like we are both a bit too late. I think most have already gone to bed. I thought more of them lived in CA, and it's not that late there. I don't know where Just Amy and Mama Bear are.

Reading the old thread, I saw that you had posted a lot of pictures of the girls. There are not there now, but that tells me it might be okay for me to post one of them where everyone can see how they have grown into such beautiful young women. Or you can pick one. Had your coffee yet?

Had your coffee yet?

Just got back to the 'puter.

I pulled some of those old photos off my site as part of a general reorg. No other reason.

Now I'll go back and look at your post to provide the data you requested.

Good. We may talk to ourselves, but the others can read it in the morning.

The domain for the book is Shemitta.com.

Eventually, I ended up editing the whole thing.

Lol, you were one of many.

We toured Thursday. You girls went shopping on Friday.

We danced to the Moshav Band CD, Return Again. IIRC, the dances were Eliyahu Hanavi, Pitchu Li, and Shabbos Kodesh.

When we left at about 10 PM Saturday evening, we drove from Point Pleasant WVA to Mystic, CT to see the tall ships the next day and then New York that evening. No sleep for the driver, nor was that the last time. Thank the Lord for timed-release Vitamin B!

Ha, I know I was one of many, but I did edit the whole thing. Don’t steal all my glory there bucko. I don’t get to feel important very often.
Yeah, of course, those were the dances (smuph, I knew that). I’ve got to get that CD. Does it come with dance instructions? LOL. Does Vit B keep you awake? I take a lot of B12. It does not keep me awake.

Hello you two.

Carry_Okie .... welcome to Amy’s Place.

I remember the Finest Thread where Nattie Shea was profiled. Was it really in 2002? Time has certainly changed FR.

Nan .. we always enjoy seeing you when you have time to stop by.

I can vouch for the hospitality in Pleasant Point, VA. I know everyone had a great time. The camp meeting (revival) must have been a real treat for the girls. I remember it reminding me of the Tent Revival Meetings from my childhood.

Hi Amy. I was beginning to wonder if your were okay. You haven’t been here much today. Yes, time sure has flown by. That old thread brought back so many memories. I also remember when you and Lori and Marissa came to visit and went to camp meeting. We enjoyed your visit as well. I think CO and his wife enjoyed the experience. It was different from anything they had ever seen, I think. The girls got stuck with the younger kids. I have no idea whether they enjoyed it or not. They may have been interested in watching Rachael teach the kids, because she is very good with the children.

Are you going to share the highlights of your U.S. tour? I would like to hear about them too.

The past two weeks have been very busy for me.

We are taking our vacation next week. We are going via Amtrak to Portland. There we will rent a car and drive home with stops along the way.

I went to see Jim this afternoon. He is doing good. John, Chris and Sheila were there. We ordered pizza and discussed the pending lawsuit against FR. I have a niece that lives next door. Marissa visited her and her son. Kyle is 4 months younger than Marissa.

Marissa saw a picture of the Mothman the other day and asked me if I remembered that. She enjoyed that Camp Revival also. :)

It’s getting late for ol DD but I’m enjoying the conversation tonight.

And Nan, looks like that old referee won’t be needed tonight. That post to you and Maggie will always linger in my mind with warm loving thoughts. I’ve still got him stashed somewhere in my photobucket file.

Me too Dave. Every time I think of those times I get all weepy. I have never understood why I can think of my son who died and not break out in tears, but every time I think of Maggie, I cry. Go figure. Be sure to save that ole referee, we may need him again someday. Hugs.

CO, your USA tour reminds me of “The Trip” that my family took during the summer of 1951. Seven of us piled into a ‘47 Chevy 2 door sedan and set out to visit all of my dad’s sisters and brothers.

Thanks to old 8mm movies (since converted to VHS) I’ll always be able to bring them up for reference. We didn’t hit the NE states, but we did depart from Eastern Washington, down to Calif, east to Grandma’s house in Alabama. Then up to Virginia, DC, then headed NW to Wisconsin, Minn. and then home to Spokane.

Three months of traveling, around this great country. Met all my cousins, Dad’s 12 (oops, make that 11 - one brother had died a couple years before the trip) brothers and sisters, and Mom’s half-sister in Minn. One flat tire, overheated engine in Wyoming, and Mom got pulled over for driving 58 MPH in a 55 zone back in South Dakota - no ticket just a warning.

Created a great appreciation for this great country for this then 6 year old.

Dave, I think everyone has gone to bed. It’s time for me to do the same. 2:00 a.m. here. I always sit up too late. We will pick up on this in the morning. God bless and have a good nights rest.

I removed what I wrote before I posted it. Don’t want to have another suit on our hands. LOL

Some attorneys are suing about 75 people for copyright violations. They just sued withou asking us to take down the post.

Meeting with our attorney tomorrow. I may not make the meeting. Jim will update me as to what transpired after the fact.

Hey Nan,

I've missed you like crazy too! I really enjoyed reading your summary of our visit, it was amazing and special to finally meet you and your family in person. You got some great pictures of our visit; I would post some of my own, but I only took closeups, oops. BTW, I ended up with almost 4000 pictures from the trip!

The camp meeting was every bit as special as JustAmy predicted. The youth teaching was extremely different for me and PowerBaby because all of the ages were taught together. At our church, there are usually 20-30 kids, broken into 5 separate age classes. Rachel's lesson had to engage ages 3-17, as a result, the class activities were comic and simple for the small fry but capable of provoking a more serious self-examination in the older members. It was a unique gift. Thank you.

I’ve got to get that CD. Does it come with dance instructions?

All of the band's work is available at moshavband.com, I think we were listening to the "Return Again" CD. Unfortunately, it won't come with dance instructions.

I'd even be willing to bet that each congregation has their own choreography to each of those songs. That's the interesting thing about worship dance, it can come in infinite different patterns and still fulfill its purpose. In other words, you can fearlessly change it up if the existing pattern becomes boring. Often, the best kind of worship dance is so slow and simple and monotone that you can focus on worshiping rather than your feet; some people even close their eyes. Personally I don't really recommend it, I tend to lose my sense of direction when I'm not looking and the people around me are strangely fond of their toes!

Does Vit B keep you awake? I take a lot of B12. It does not keep me awake.

The drugstore "5 Hour Energy" product is mostly B12 with some B3 & B6, also a cup of coffee's caffeine dose. However, I think Daddy was taking just straight vitamin B. I don't know exactly what was in it, but it worked. This college student is looking forward to trying them out in Fall! MUCH cheaper than campus coffee!

Speaking of staying awake, its WAY past my bedtime!

Three months! Wow. That's one heck of a wandering.

Ours was more a bit of a whirlwind, in that we had never taken a real vacation with the girls and they are now nearly grown. So for us, it was now or never.

As a secondary motive, I was taking photos that I'll probably use in a future edition of Shemitta. I spoke to people most everywhere we went, including congregations, about this amazing find concerning the Word of God.
