How cute! Love it, Pam! Thank you. You’re always so thoughtful!
Hope you have enjoyed your Tuesday, too, Conor!
Hi Billie! Well you already know how computer-illiterate I am and sometimes I'm just as glad! If I knew more about the workings, I would be even crazier than I am when its not working.
My computer was doing some of the same things you described about yours! It would be working fine and just freeze....couldn't move from that point! And mine also got to the place I couldn't cut it off normally (like I do every night) to close it I had to cut it off like rebooting!
What upset me was I might have (one 2 hour spell) where I could post a while and then bang, it would go back to the freezing position! It just made me so upset, I had to quit trying. Tinypic wouldn't open graphics for me either...just many little things that drove me up the wall.
My son came Sunday and worked on it about 3-4 hours and got everything in tip top shape. Wish I could send him to you all with computer problems! This time he installed Microsoft Malwarebytes' anti-Malware! I think Dave was mentioning that one. Barry said that was what he was using now. He has to be careful with his because one of his he uses in his business. He said I had over 200 things infected. No wonder it wouldn't run.
I do a lot of searching for graphics and I think thats where we pick up junk. My son thinks Powerpoints are dangerous to the computer. He said "Mom, you can send me all you want to, but I don't open them." He just deletes them and some are so beautiful! Most of my friends love them and I always have, too.
Here is my turtle offering for Lucy!
Dang it! I hope you have some leftovers, ‘cause I’m coming back to sit in that gazebo, and I’m hungry!
Hi, Nan - you're probably not around right now, but wanted to say hello anyway. I always think of Magnolias when I think of the South. :)
Weinie
Oh, I loved our lunch today, too! I felt *this* close to actually BEING there, ladies! Thank you so much for joining me!
Oh, I wish you could have joined us, Billie! It was such a wonderful afternoon............good food, good wine, good friends - they all go together so well, especially in a beautiful setting!
Me, too! All the fresh air, birds singing, flowers, bubbling water, good food, good wine, laughter and love? All that would tire out any of us!
Wasn't it, though? We MUST do it again, and SOON!
It sure was a relaxing day AFTER I finally got there! I think I will sleep really well tonight. We should plan this monthly when the weather is pretty!
"We should plan this monthly when the weather is pretty"
JC, as much fun as we all had today, I am sure we could have an 'outing' in the pouring down rain, and STILL have a BALL!
C.O. and his wife and two daughters took a summer "family national tour". They came East by the southern route, then took a side trip to WV and stayed three days with us. Then they went to N.Y. City and the northeast, and back across the northern route to CA.
Their oldest daughter started corresponding with me when she was barely 14. She had been writing to Maggie before she died and then turned to me after we lost Maggie. So we feel like Maggie was the one who brought us together.
Before I became a "sounding board" for a teen, I knew I needed to have a chat with her parents. So I introduced myself to her father, Carry_Okie. He gave me a passing grade and I quickly became part of the family as Aunt Nan.
C.O. was writing a book called "Shemitta" (M. you can add links since I don't know how). So, I don't recall whether I asked to see what he was writing or he asked me to look at it. I think the latter. So, I began reading and as I am a compulsive "nag", I began to correct things and changing his sentences. Eventually, I ended up editing the whole thing. It's a marvelous book, plus pictures books, that is a unique system for reclaiming the land and it is based on two chapters of the Book of Leviticus. For Biblical lovers, it's an awesome thing to read. For anyone who loves the land, it's a "how-to" that is stunning.
The family arrive on Wed, July 14 at 10:00 P.M. just as hubby and I were getting home from Camp Meeting. Not a lot of visiting that night as they were tired and so were we. We had a leisurely breakfast the next morning. (M. I can't remember now whether we toured the town on Thurs. or Fri.)I think it was that day that I took them on the tour of the town. That afternoon we all piled in the van and went to a UMChurch in New Haven, WV where we were fed a great meal. Then we all went to Camp Meeting. That was a cultural experience for all of them, because the family is Messianic Christian. The girls were asked to go down to the children's camp and talk to the kids, and they ended up staying there. I heard something about K pushing Nattie Shea around in a wheel barrow.
On Friday after breakfast, we went shopping at the Mason Jar which is an Antique & Craft mall. That afternoon my son took portraits of them at his studio.
Since they observe Shabbat, I stayed home (missed Camp Meeting for the first time in 18 years) with them and had the experience of observing the Jewish Sabbath with them. It was wonderful, and I had asked a friend of mine to join us because she loves everything Jewish. M. you will have to fill in the names of the observances and dances. Yes, there was dancing. The girls and their Mom danced in my living room and my friend joined them with such joy, even though I knew that she has been very sick. After my friend left, I tried a few steps and found that I have two left feet.
Saturday being Sabbath, we just chilled all day and had good conversations. They also packed so that after sundown Saturday, they left for N.Y. I hated to see them go. I feel like they are now my family that lives very far away. I will post a few pictures separately. I don't want to put too much in one post. Besides it takes me forever to figure out how to get them from Picasa to here. I'm hoping that Carry will check in and fill in some of the details. Or maybe Nattie Shea will do that.
Hey .... my mother also came from the Sullivan family.
Hello Billie, I was later getting home than I expected. That tea party meeting was jumping tonight. I haven’t seen that much excitement in a long time. We had a big crowd and John Raese spoke. He’s good. He’s running to get Byrd’s seat. We are going to be working our buns off for him.
