Uh.......the ‘cute one’ was from TiaPam. Mine was the next one. LOL!!
Tiapam, I got your goodnight graphic mixed up. Can you forgive me....LOL! You better!
Thank you, Meg. When you told us about going through all those pictures yesterday, I had to find a ‘special’ graphic and poem.
Yesterday, I came accross my ‘baby book’. Inside, was a photograph of me - one year old. And, there was my original Birth Certificate, with my hand and foot-prints. Then, my mother’s index finger prints.
Then, while cleaning out a ‘junk’ drawer, I found my grandparents full names, dates of birth and death, and their social security numbers. (I put that paper in my baby book.)
Memories - the blossoming roses in our hearts........
Well.. it was special indeed!
What great finds you made...I get “lost” when I pull out my stash of old pictures and keepsake items...
My son and grandson and I got them out last summer..He says I need to write on the back all info..I’ll never do it..LOL..Too much and too many.
Very lovely, Meg!
Thank you, jaycee..Hope your hip eases up on you..I must get busy here.

Strangers In The Box
Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, or when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be passed away?
Make time to save your stories,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

JC, the picture TiaPam posted, along with what you just said, reminded me of this poem:
The Mule
A couple was celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. Their domestic tranquility had long been the talk of the town, and on this special occasion, a local newspaper reporter paid them a visit. He inquired as to the secret of their long and happy marriage.
"Well," explained the husband, "it all goes back to our honeymoon. We visited the Grand Canyon and took a trip down to the bottom of the canyon by pack mule."
"We hadn't gone too far when my wife's mule stumbled. My wife quietly said 'That's once.' We proceeded a little farther when the mule stumbled again. Once more my wife quietly spoke: 'That's twice.' We hadn't gone a half-mile when the mule stumbled a third time. My wife promptly removed a revolver from her purse, hopped down off the beast, and shot the mule dead."
"I started to protest over her treatment of the mule when she looked at me and quietly said, 'That's once.'"
I meant to mention that Charlie’s dog is only a few months over 3 years old. Thats why it is so sad!
Oh, my goodness, JC! What a WONDERFUL photograph!!! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Oh, no! That is WAY to young for such degenerative disease, JC! How sad!
Wow, Meg! That looks JUST like 24k GOLD! It is beautiful. Thank you. Happy Friday to you!
I know exactally what you mean - I have drawers full of photographs - and not one of them has a name on the back! (And, they never will, I’m sure!) LOL!
A TICK????? Did it attach? I have always been skeerd of ticks! How did you remove it?
What a beautiful graphic and poem, Yorkie! Thank you!
